Title: Jedi Academy Guild
Post by: restore on April 25, 2006, 08:36:17 am
I've obtained enough trias to buy myself a guild and i'm gonna call it the Jedi Academy and I need at least 5 people to invite to start the guild up. What my guild is going to be about is the people that join are going to be the keepers of peace helping others understand what the world of Yliakum is all about. In case of a struggle a person is getting hurt in the battlefield our members will tend to there help but only if it's major. As i was saying we're only keepers of peace but if we're in danger or someone else is in danger we give all we have to protect ourselves and others. We also help each other in our guild to make sure everything's ok. My username on the Planeshift is Alexo contact him if you want to join and i'll invite you when i get all 5 people that i need to create the guild. Thanks hope to hear from all of you soon.

Good luck with your guild :) You should change the name though, because it has too many connotations to things that do not exist in the PlaneShift world. Be a little more original, and the community will give you a warmer welcome.

You should take a look at the "Creating Your Guild" thread, stickied right at the top of this forum section - it has a lot of information that you will find useful.

Don't rush into guild creation - I would recommend learning about some guilds that already exist and making sure that you are not creating a duplicate. You should put a lot of time and effort into making your guild stand out through interesting goals, organization, and roleplay. Guilds aren't supposed to be groups of random friends. They are a lot more serious :)

Believe me when i say its very hard for me not to call you names....

Do not call your guild Jedi academy... it ruins the Roleplay atmosphere for people who are trying to playing a world where there are no Jedi's

call it something more inventive like"The Jedorai Cult" or something

secondly try to put some effort into your guild before making it... like guild story or goals at least...

Ok i'll rename it the Yliakum Peace Keepers. Our goal is to rid the world of monsters and to become the very best we can and help other while we're at it.

Better :) Though I would still suggest that you elaborate, because we already have many "peace keeping" guilds around - so you'll have to try hard to give players a reason to choose your guild over all the others. Take your time, there is no rush. The more thought you put into this, the more rewarding your guild will be.

You might want to add some (basic) info on the site.
Right now, people first need to register to see anything. That might scare interested people away ...  ;)

As I said, there are a lot of similar guilds already out there. Why should players join yours over others? :) It has to be interesting.

This is why normally it is recommended that before you start a guild, you hang around for several months and really understand how the world and guilds function.

Monsters are a necessary component of the ecosystem, yo.

hmm have to agree with Karyuu on this one. Protectors, defenders, guardians of this and that. Names stilll in use and used before aswell so to set youself apart you would need to have a goal and history that makes you stand out from the rest ;)

guardians of power, sounds a bit like something we do to, but won't mind getting help we can't be everywhere all the time ;)

Well, a guild's believes and goals doesn't have to be special or super original to get members. If the organization is good and the members friendly, I'm sure it'll become a great guild aswell ;)

There are "evil" guilds - the decent evil guilds don't lay themselves out into spotlights though ;)

Yeah, really... there's so much "underground" maneuvering and... stuff. Machiavelli would be proud.

PlaneShift does have evil guilds like Karyuu said, but for the most part only noobish ones stand up and say "We're evil! Graah! /challenge and accept and you'll get totally pwned!"

Hmm, the best ones do :P

They just keep their true intentions...less than obvious :D
