Title: desert kran city
Post by: minetus on April 25, 2006, 11:03:44 pm
yesterday i slept watching a bbc documentarie about the city of petra, and today i spent a very boring day in a farm in country side.... heres what it came up...

Petra was know to have architectal influences from persians, roman, greek and corinthian. and that makes it very fascinating especialy when its a city carved in rock mountains.

if you want to see some pictures from petra: http://www.jorgetutor.com/jordania/petra/petra.htm  :D

some drafts:

DETAIL!

YEAH!

This is awesome work, exactly what the community is looking for. You can tell there was lot of planning and development behind this stuff. Good work, and here's a cookie.

This is no doubt a par that should be kept for future artists.

I'm diggin' it.

Problem is, Talad has this weird thing about stuff being "seen"... So chances are he won't use that :F

Though it may help you if/when you apply for the team.

looking good rast, if you dont mind a lill criticism :whistling:

the texture in the temple colums are skewed you can see the uv map tile, i tink this can be solved by changing the uvmap type"not sure" or rotating it if you know how too cuz i dont  :-[.

the colisium thingy actually was rubish drawings :whistling:, but looking nice, maybe if you make the colums tinner and add some more will look better i tink.

overall, youre doing great

im getting a desk up i bought from stapples today i tink im gona draw something for your water floating city after  :D

i don't critisism atall (as long as it isn't to insulting  :))

i completely remodeled the colliseum and made the water less like a sheet of celophophane  ;). i will probably finish the temple thing when i'm more awake though . here is the collesium complete with landscape:

 hope u like it.

thx 4 ofering to draw some stuff 4 my "water floating city" - was running out of inspiration  :sweatdrop:.

wait wait wait... it's a "desert kran city", right? What's this about water? :O

Perhaps for watersports in the arena :P

I'm making some random desert-y things as well, but none of them are good enough to post so yeha.

About the coloseum ... it's... well it wouldn't really work, would it? where would people sit? o.O

The interior of the colosseum:

and this is a much better one, but too large to show inline: http://www.the-colosseum.net/images/sezione.jpg

I'll give him a dollar if he can manage modeling that colesseum.
The rest of the stuff looks really great. And I too am kinda confused about where water comes in. maybe an oases?

Lol I'll give him 2 dollars. If i had.
Very...eh..original design on the colosseum. You know, the gladiators would run away trough the gaps. :innocent: Try to atleast give it walls, please, because I would be to afraid to come and watch. :'(

1. about the water - the map minetus drew had water @ 1 end (@least i think it was water  :whistling:)
2. about the gaps in the coliseum - ummmmmmmmmm....... ::| *runs off to start moddeling*(it will probably have a record amount of polys though ;))

i'm glad u all like the models anyway :)

Good luck filling the gaps, or maybe they could be there, just make them the outer wall for you building and make then an inner building inside it, it would look really cool
