For a while before now, when I tried to get on I got this notice saying "Technical difficulties - Webmasters: please contact support@lunarpages.com as soon as possible."
What caused this? Just wondering.
(EDIT: Whoops, someone should probably move this to "Forum Issues". . .My bad. :P)

Oh boy :) Evidently what happened is that we used "a bit" too much of the host's CPU, and even though we were well within our regular limits like bandwidth usage and storage space, that one thing pushed us over and they temporarily closed us down. They've allowed us to continue using the forums for a bit longer now, but it looks like we are going to switch hosts again for something better. This won't affect the address of the forums, since acraig has hydlaa.com registered, but it may cause more ups and downs before we are finally settled down, so prepare for some more possible inconvenience within a day or two...

Probably lunarpages not living up to their promises. In retrospect, it doesn't look like they have a very (http://www.diagnose-me.com/sucks/lunarpages.html) good (http://www.bearcity.co.uk/lunarpages/index.html) reputation (http://www.professional-lurker.com/archives/001249.html)...
Or... what karyuu said. Yeah.

I just heard from another board admin: A reason could have been a currently lurking "PHP-include worm" (sentry).
A rented v-server may not be the best for such a big project, so you shall better look for an own root server. This may cost a bit, but probably not the thousands of extra fee.
In Germany, there are e.g. Strato (strato.de), or 1&1 (1und1.de) - the latter seems to be approaching the international market currently.

JaguarPC (http://jaguarpc.com) is also pretty good. Had them for a while doing guild leadership stuff on another game.
Service was prompt, and the servers were set up well.
