How often do you see likes of "Try using the search button - your question has been addressed many times before"?
Using "simple machines forum" has now made this simple solution less appealing as it automatically implies a wildcard search e.g. searching for "pet" will find everything containing the consecutive characters p, e and t - i.e. petition, carpet, perpetual etc. etc. I thought enclosing the search term in double quotes might work, but it doesn't. :thumbdown:

Oh, how interesting.. I'll look around and see if this can be tweaked somehow. Agreed, that will be an annoyance. Thanks for pointing this out :}
