Allright. I haven't been on for a while now. Yesterday I was surfing around and came across this on the Apple website
from http://www.apple.com/macosx/bootcamp/
As elegant as it gets
Boot Camp lets you install Windows XP without moving your Mac data, though you will need to bring your own copy to the table, as Apple Computer does not sell or support Microsoft Windows.(1) Boot Camp will burn a CD of all the required drivers for Windows so you don't have to scrounge around the Internet looking for them.
Well I couldn't believe it at first, but then after checking out again and again I have come to the conclusion that it was the real apple website :o
After calming down, and realizing that there would be absoloutly no point in running XP on a mac with OS X I started realizing something which made my hair stand straight. If people will be able to run Windows on their intel mac software developers might use it as an excuse to stop developing software for OS X. Since the cost of developing the same software for two distinct platforms will be high they might see it as more profitable to let people buy the windows version and install windows on their computer. ::|
Are we facing here the next big apple flop or is it some genius plan from Steve to crumble the windows empire ? :-X

8) That is a good point, I feel he must have thought of this through, Because if you are right he wont have to waste millions on os X, Production and development or possibly millions on getting software companies to do Mac products, hummmmmmm some one prod him. Not to mention whats the point in having a Mac at all, if this happens.

That's just evil... :@#\
If all that happens guess I'll go back to using linux more.
:-X

I'm not sure. Boot camp is a bit controversial... The Mac OS X forum, however, is a tech support forum. Therefore, I think this needs a move. iMove to Hydlaa Plaza.

Yeah heard about this some weeks back. What this means is that there will be more mac sales. OSX comes free when you buy a mac usually. If you can run windows on it then there will be more people who will buy macs which means more $$$ for apple. And if Vista turns out to not be all that amazing compared to OSX in speed/stability/security, then people with those macs will run OSX instead of windows for the everyday stuff. So apple wins whatever happens.

oooopssss sorry bout that Chaos ... I didn't mean to post in the wrong place.
I hope that you are right Xordan, however the idea to run windows natively on a Mac still sends cold shivers down my spine. :sweatdrop:
Also this would open the mac to all the security issues related to windows which people did not have to worry about. However this would also mean (x86 architecture obliges) that you would be able to dual boot into linux. Right ? :P

I had been following another site which was trying to get windows to run on an intel mac, and as soon as they got the solution out and the two winners took the $13,000 prize money, apple brought out their version. As soon as apple releases their next rev. of intel imacs I will be getting one :D

I think its a good move on their part.
