Title: mining levels

would anyone tell me what level you need to be to mine certain ores or gems? thanks in advance.

As far as I can remember, I could mine anything at level 1.  In any event, I'm level 5 and can mine anything (unless I'm missing something).

Mining levels don't influence what you can mine, just how successful you become if you find the right spot.

ah that must be it, but when i was level 1 in mining i couldnt mine much. ok, thanks BlackAcre and Karyuu.

Persevere! It wasn't meant to be too easy. You don't become an expert at something immediately  :)

The first couple of mining levels are painful affairs, but if you stick at it, and invest some tria and progression points, it will get easier!

Resources can have a minimum skill level required to mine them, though I don't know if any are set to use this feature at the moment.

Gold and platinum both require a degree of theoretically training equal to less than level 1 and greater than nothing.  I think that diamond and emerald are similar, but I'd have to test it.
