so I just got bittorrent hoping to get planeshift up and running... WRONG. I went to the official site download the torrent and all I get is ungodly symbols such as the following: ÷D¯§©?ó;H¯Þ=ç¡»VHd>à²GðÐ9ìÚÎ0¢ðÕ¿Ñ]t?Ìçd?!Iæ??Æ!uJ??§?[6yJÈAÄÝEÍ¥#)ÀQ?$A®[ðíµ.-?L§+ÛÈÖiõùë??. This goes on for a long time. So I tried looking for another source and let's say that effort is fruitless. Somebody please help.
p.s. I know I will be getting fifty thousand messages saying YOU NOOB and all the other classics but before you call me a noob help me get on planeshift and demostrate my true noobness

Did you open the file with bittorrent? You don't open the .torrent file with anything else.
-
I don't get to the file. I click on the link in the download page of the planeshift website. Rather than start sending me anywhere or doing anything it sends me some kind of code. I tried getting another source for the torrent file but no luck.
is there a patch from 3.013 to 3.014?

That's rather strange, as for me it launches an "Open With..." window where my torrent client is selected. This link right here (http://laanx.fragnetics.com/bt/PlaneShift_CBV0.3.014.macosx.torrent)? Is there a way for you to give your torrent client a URL?
-
yeah that's the link and I have no idea if I can get my client to a URL because it sounds too complicated and I'm not exactly a computer person. this is what mine opens up with: d8:announce41:http://laanx.fragnetics.com:6881/announce13:creation datei1146987191e4:infod6:lengthi342306933e4:name32:. after this is a page full of more computer babble

Right click on the link and click the 'save as..' or 'save link as..' option.
-
Still not working, it won't let me save in the bittorrent application. Should I just wait for a patch or the mirrors to be fixed?
-
I don't think there is anything wrong that you can't fix on your side :} When you're clicking "Save As...", you're not trying to save in bittorrent. Try saving the file anywhere, onto your Desktop for example, then run it. I think you can drag it onto your bittorrent client to have it open there automatically.

I AM THE CHAMPION. IT WORKED. Thank you so very much Karyuu and Xordan. I deserve a cookie. Now all I have is 3 hours of glorious wait time... AH!!!

If you'd read the Guide, you'd have gotten on a lot faster (the torrent is low on seeders, so a direct download is quicker). Also, if you'd searched, you'd have seen others who had similar problems. ;)
I know you're new, so it's no big deal, but in the future, please read stickies and search before posting! Now, since this has been addressed in the past... iLock.
