Title: "server dropped us for unknown reason" error possible fix

1. put compatability mode on 98/me
2. enable full screen and 32bit color by editing the psclient.cfg file

it should look like this...

; Screen depth (currently supports 8, 15, 16, and 32 bits, NO 24 bits!)
Video.ScreenDepth = 32
; Use full-screen mode if available
Video.FullScreen = yes

probably worked because my windows is in 32bit color, if yours is different change it to that depth...anyway, hope this helps/isnt a repost

i tried to to this but it doesn\'t work!
i still get same error \"server dropped us for unknown reason \"  ;(

update: ok it does work now

i change

Planeshift.Client.User.Connecttimeout = 60
to

Planeshift.Client.User.Connecttimeout = 800

I logged on fine yesterday, and now all of the sudden I get the Server dropped us error! is the server down right now?

I clicked on the link in the top post by the Admin, but it says page does not exist so... any info would be great thanks!

I think they have a new server but haven\'t given out the new IP.

I really want to play this game, but after trying nearly every option on the forum, I still get the \"server has dropped us for unknown  ?(  reason\" - error when I want to upload my character to the server (ps.gamiix.com) for the first time !

I have winXP Prof;
PIII 650 mhz (I know, I know  ;( );
256 SDRAM;
Radeon 7500 64mb.

Please HELP  :(  !

Well.... I tried everything you all have stated above and I still get the Server Dropped Us. As I said just 2 days  ago I was able to get on without changing anything so I dunno...(Will wait wait for new IP)

I didnt see where to put compatability mode on 98/me ...?

Everytime i want to upload my character i get the message \"Couldn\'t resolve Server hostname\". What does it mean?

It means the server doesn\'t exist anymore and is now being used as a doorstop in crazzykid\'s closet.
