Uhm would reconsider your promotion system looking at it makes me think highest rank in one day if I have a little luck with looting. And with such a name I would think it would be about helping people that gains you ranks. Also doesn't say what the guild does with the funds they get from promotionpurchases ;)

As for the helping way to gain points. Think giving away is kinda a cheap way to elp someone. Think the emphasis should be to teach someone to fish instead of giving someone a fish so to speak ;) That works best in the long run I would imagine and would truely honor the name you have chosen.

Missing IC history and reason for starting the guild

The Helpers of Yliakum is a guild that is run by all its members.

How does this work in respect to privilidges? Do you have a lot of all membervotes on the course of the guild or something similar?

The guild will work by the members making suggestions and then these suggestions will be voted upon. Everyone in the guild will get one vote.
We created the guild because we like to help people and because the old guild most of us were in 'Helping Hand' was closed down by us because the leade had been absent for a few months.
I agree with you about teaching people instead of just giving things to them, but we intend for our members to do that anyway. We assume that the people in our guild would help people even if they were not in a guild.
The money we raise will go towards the events our guild will organize.

Well I'll honestly say that I haven't really bothered reading the entire website.

It's obvious what you want to stand for, something a lot of guilds have tried and some still are doing. It's without doubt the quickest and easiest way to become a large guild. Help new people by giving them free goodies, etc. and you can expect several of those people to join your guild. You'll also make a lot of friends this way, I'm certain.

However some of the downsides are the lack of originality, no real roleplaying contribution. Don't understand me wrong, it's great that there are guilds who help out new players .. we definitely need those. That is where your contribution will end most likely though, helping new players. You'll have little to add to the 'mature' roleplaying community, unless you manage to work out an excellent way to help those new to Yliakum. It can be done but it's far from easy.

If I may make a bold suggestion, try to think of a specific way of helping Yliakeans, move your focus off the general helping and towards contributing something to the roleplaying community. Add something to the community, a service possibly, that isn't yet provided or you think you can provide better ... you can still continue to help out new players, most of us do it independent from our guilds.

Our guild will hold large whole-of-yliakum events, these will help people by providing something different too do and they will sort of be a social gathering. We won't just help new people!
