Sreamah walks up and places an Ad on the board in Hydlaa, it reads:
With the success of my last attempt at this, I have opened it up to all of Yliakum.
The Scions are hosting a Quest Competition, on July 8th at 1700GMT. There will be a sign-up for this competition please send a messanger beast [/tell Sreamah] between the 5th and 7th of July to get signed up [I prefer to do most things IG]. It is free admission, and there are 6 really good prizes as well as a few hundred thousand trias prize money.
The start point of this quest will be the statue in the Hydlaa main plazza. The concept is simple, there are riddles that the answers will point at certain locations in Yliakum. Figure out the location, go there, and find someone waiting there, to give you another riddle to another location, and so on. There are 8 riddles, in total.
a few of the rules [they will all be explained on the day of the event]
you can ask anyone for help.
you can also work together to solve the riddles, if you wish. but no yelling or telling the answers to other participants once you have solved it.
you must be standing in front of the riddle giver to [/tell the name previous riddle giver] get your new riddle. the order in which the /tells come in, is the order that the finish is.
after the first 6 finish the competition it is over, and everyone will b called to the final location for the handing out of prizes.
Sreamah looks over the parchment, smiles and walks away.

Nice. Sounds fun. I hope to be there.
-
The last event was very fun. Even though I did not finish. :( But this should be just as entertaining.

Hopefully this time we won't have the same problem ;)
 Sreamah!!! Anfa bows to her guild leader.
Thanks for putting all the hard work into making this happen!!

7'th july... i read it as june instead and was like "noooo i missed it :(" before i checked the important difference between l and n (sounds pretty similar to each other) (in danish thoose two letters will determine if it's june or july)
/me looks up at his line and thinks "ahh i haven't got enough sleep, i am weird again!"
-
I'm definitely going to try and make this ... also it's great so see more european friendly events, datewise that is.
-
I do believe that Sreamah hasn't filled all the volunteer postitions for this event so if you are interested in participating but not as a contestant :detective: please contact Sreamah and let her know.
[she wants all of the plan-making to be done ingame so look for her there!]
Cheers!!
Update: all the postitions are full and the quest is ready to go...I wish all the future participants good luck!! all that is left to do is sign everyone up. Between the 5th and the 7th of July look for Sreamah ingame to add your name to the list.
-
sounds great! and hopefully, i'll be good old me again :innocent: by then \\o//

So it seems...other than a major change or shakedown of the client...we are good to go. Anfa countdowns the days to the competition..
EDIT: Okay Okay....I did not know about the major Change "woo hoo new client!!" but I am a bit of a witch :sorcerer: ;D
{premonition anyone?}
-
Sreamah walks up to her annouincement, pulls a Quill and Ink from her bag and makes a correction to the date.
The contest will be held on the 15th, sign-up is the 12 to 14 of july
[Sorry due to the new client and ppl not being able to get online right away, i am pushing back the contest a week, hopefully all the prizes are still in my possession]
-
Sreamah, that sounds interesting...
Are you still interested in some "undercover" characters as reserve for your stations? ;)

Also I think back up incase of is a good Idea!!

AAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHH!!!! I fell off a cliff and died so I was too late!!! Please tell me there's going to be another one soon!
If not, tell me how it works so I can organize one myself!
-
The winner walks in, takes a quick bow, pins up a for sale notice on a 8.8Longsword and leaves again
-
Siteri - I am sure there will be another one. I helped out as "station" in the current, and from my PoV, it was some rather advanced event - they really had to know both many NPC quests, and many locations. We had 8 stations to visit, but already at the 3rd station we missed a few members, and not even half of the starters finished the quest at all.
1) Sov
2) Alliva
3) Merryn
4) Eliseth (+ Giniley -- yes, teamwork!)
So I hope that the next event might be a little easier, and also maybe a bit more limited regarding the distances to travel. Especially newer people have a hard time not getting lost.
About the prizes:
Holla! I was impressed about the amount and value. So it is definitely worth attending!
-
Congratulations to the winners and I am sorry I missed it. \\o//
As for the distances, yes suddenly our world is much larger now :o
The riddles had been orginally written for a "smaller" yialkum, adapted for the larger world when it became necessary. I think perhaps focusing on different areas of yialkum will be a thought in future quests.
And the prizes merely reflected the difficulty of the competition, truly the winners earned a healthy reward ;D
I will talk to Sreamah about perhaps rating future competitions into Beginners, moderate, and advanced to give people a better idea of how difficult the challenge before them is.
[since part of the Scion training in the lower levels is questing, questing, questing {to get to know the world and it's people} we may have overlooked, that not all are questing fiends like us!! ]
Cheers and congrats again to the winners and thank you to all who were willing to give it a go!!
-
Well, it turns out I wouldn't have had enough time to finish the thing anyway, and since you had to know about lots of regular quests I probably wouldn't have been able to finish even if I had the time.
-
Ah, here seem to be more news from this event.
I was on my way from magic shop to Ojave when I spotted croud at plaza and there was announced to be big event so as I am bit curious I came closer, somehow I managed to miss all riddles and stuff, maybe standing too far, so I got part from here and other from there, it was bit difficult to find out what was going on then.I was so slow that when I reached place of first teller there was nobody left anymore, that time winners was already known so you can say that I was no good at all this time :D
Looking forward for next event, maybe then I will spot information about it on time so I won't miss all tips and rules part :)
-
[I am sorry, to thoes that were left behind, as Anfa said we are quest fiends. In the future i will rate the contests]
Sreamah posts an addition on top of her advertisment, it reads
The prizes were 100 000 trias per place 1 - 6, and in order Iron LS [/8.8] Iron Short Sword [/8.0] Iron Short Sword [/8.0] Lightning glyph, Energy Glyph and Darkness glyph.
Congratulations to the 4 winners, i hope everyone enjoyed themselves, and will attend the next one.
Sreamah walks away with a sad smile on her lips.
-
Yeah it was cool but next time im hopeing to come in first lol but next time me and sov at one i challange all of you to beat me and him.
-
 Ah yes, good fun, Myself and Alliva will be there to finish the riddles before you all. *laughs menacingly* ;D
-
This morning I thought of a good idea for those who missed it or couldn't get to all the questions...
Why not post the questions used in the competition on the forums and have people who hadn't already done those questions in the competition try to answer them? That way everyone gets a chance. It could be kind of a consolation round.
Or, if you really want everyone to be able to try to answer every question, just PM them to people who ask, then they'll PM the answers back.
-
Good idea. I'm ready to send my questions to those who are interested.
-
I can post the list once I contact Sreamah to get all the questions... {away right now} but if people are interested I am more than happy to do it.
Cheers
-
I'll have a go :)
Either way you want to handle this in PMs or here.
-
Obviously I want the question list when it's available.
-
As would I. Due to not having the new client until the event was going, I was only able to see a small part of it. :)
-
guys guys just wait for the next one then you can experience first hand your defeat at mine and sivs hand :P.
-
That's why we need the practice!
-
The questions posed for the Scion Quest.
1. A place with eight faces, warriors train.
Climb and climb way up high,
far below a pair of tefus eat.
2. Where the dead reside,
and rest forever.
light is dark, rot in peace.
3. A pair of thorns, thrusting a slant towards the sky
point out aged places.
4. At the place where faith comes closest to safety,
A space near the base, green grass is kept neatly.
5. This gobble is diseased, your help he needs.
Rats and rogues abound, all around.
6. A groffel, a groffel,
Where do I get a groffel?
7. A problem with rats, an infestation in fact.
To kill the rats, go around back.
8. This place to gather, drink to your hearts content.
Has no door, and mugs do break.
Congrats again to those who completed the quest.
Cheers
-
By the gods! I think I know all the answers :o. I'm so not missing the next one of these! :'(
-
Yeah, those were too easy. Even the one where I knew its answer was one of the answers, I could have figured it out. There's only one that I'm not sure of... it could be a few places.
Oh, and once I find out from Anfa if I'm right, I'm going to make the run from one place to the next... after all, it's not fair to the people who really did it if I get to answer all the questions without actually going to the places!
...OK, the results are in, and I started to do the run, but... now I give up...
OBJECTION! (http://objection.mrdictionary.net/go.php?n=562643)
I decided to do it after all, starting where I left off! And I completed the course in about 103 minutes, or a little more than an hour and a half.
-
:woot: way to go Siteri!!
anyone else interested let me know...
and there will be more quests in the future... we will keep you posted.
note: with the much bigger world we will be sure to concentrate more in one area.
Cheers to all,
-
erm ppl most players didnt even finish after 3 hours the closest ppl were was like questiong 5 so i doubt the next one will be any harder.
-
hmm siteri just read your post have to be faster i think me and sov mannaged it in just over an hour.
-
Well, as I said, I died three times...
Hmm, I might have to try again sometime. I should save the location list.
