i accidenyl quit the game when i was in a battle, the stats at the top of the screen never showed up and i couldnt stop abeing in defensive mode, i tried ot log on after exiting and i cant because it says im still in battle

any ideas?

wait eventually it will let you back in

This happens to me all the time. I am one of the guys whos game freezes every 50 minutes like clockwork. It gets a little frustating at times.( they know of this bug and are fixing it for the next update) As steuben Said, you just have to wait till the battle is over, then you will be logged out from the game and will be able to log back on. It took me 15 minutes one time, and when I got back on I found myself in the Death Realm ??? But it was a great adventure ;)

This system was added to Planeshift, because many players were abusing
the quiting of the game.
The players involved quit Planeshift as quick as possible, when they were nearly killed
by the NPC, to not end up in the Death Realm.
At this moment the system protects against this and keeps you're character "online".
The fight you were having continues till either you killed the NPC or you get killed by the NPC.
In some cases neither of you can get killed and then the fight would continue endless.
For this problem is an another solution added.
The NPC involved needs to be killed by another player ingame then.
This can take a long time sometimes, like Laragorn mentioned.

I have a same problem. I am actually now @ Uni and i tried to connect to PS but unfortunately the "Fragnetics" status says "Failed. @ home i can login without any trouble. Please help me.

Hiya Asmondeus, this isn't the same problem at all unless you logged out while you were fighting. Were you ever able to login when you are at your uni? You may have a necessary port blocked.

:D Well..The subject said "Can't Log in" that is why i posted here since I cannot log in and I was afraid that my topic might be AGAIN removed ^_^. :)
To answer your question, I really do not have problems with Ports @ school since I have already asked the IT admin to install it on the server itself. And still has the same problem.
I cannot update as well. Says something abt "mir1 cannot update" or something. I have manually patch the updates that has been posted in some of the threads in the forum and yet still gives the same problem.

You'll need to make sure that UDP port 7777 is enabled for server Laanx - it's quite important. Can you verify if this has already been taken care of?

... too bad....i just went and asked but they would not allowed to open it. :D dam.... T_T ..is there anyway around that i can play @ Uni?

I'm not sure as I haven't tried it myself, but with the program Hamachi you can set up a proxy server at your home and then connect to it on your university using an encrypted connection. If you try this, make sure you have the beta version from the forums and read lots of documentation as it's kinda experimental.
It would look like this:
Planeshift Server - Internet - Home PC - Hamachi client - secured p2p connection to University over Internet - Hamachi client - University PC - Planeshift Client
It looks like this is going to give a lot of lag but it works really fast during AOE3 matches, never tried the proxy thing though.

The UDP port 7777 has been opened in the server as well for the routers. and yet still cannot login. Still "Fragnetcs failed". What else do we need to do it?? our system manager is helping me but we dont know what else to do. Help!!
My Uni is using ISA-Server. Beside approaching the stuff to open the ports, is there any other way?? A tweak?? Anyhow, the UDP port 7777 is already opened since 4 hours ago. -.-" have been trying to log in since then. -.-" any suggestions??

Not in a fight, that i know of....
Suddenly yesterday i couldn't reach the server, at home and at work( just for testing)
A ping in the update app also failed.
I'm running a MacBook in XP emulation through Bootcamp which allows me to install a regular version XP.
Up till yesterday the program worked very ok
Tried to open port 7777, which i read somewhere in a post........no result.
any suggestions?

We have prepared a new update for PlaneShift and we need some time to test it on the laanx server. For this reason the server will be down starting from this evening (few hours from now). The test will last few days, during which you will not be able to play PlaneShift.
The update brings some new features, new skins and some new outdoor terrain. You will need a new client to connect, that will be provided in the download section on bittorrent in the next days.

New client??...OmG...i've already downloaded the last client, and get this suprise ehh... :thumbdown:
Admin - You could delete the old link of client, couse few more people like me will download this.... :sleeping:

I feel your pain :( . I just hope you don't have dialup. At 5 KBps for a 300 MB download (just a guess)
It would take (drum rolls)
17 hours 4 minutes 0 seconds of constant online time to download the new client.
