Title: Player Government\Guild controled
Post by: Bnore on January 20, 2003, 01:30:43 pm
I would like to see the government controled by the players themself. You could have it so players could elect other players into government and they could set tax rates the cost of items and the types of items in town.

If you make a player government controled by guilds that would be cool to like say my guild takes control of a town and then my guild can set a tax rate (for money into a guild stash) and set all the normal government settings. Then you could have the guards of that town attack non guild members and guilds would war for town control.

But you would want to have the guild control set to smaller towns so that the main kindoms are set for storyline. But if a guild takes over a few towns then maybe the guild could take over large towns and even like the capitals of the world

Player-killing is NOT allowed in the game (besides if there was a guild-war there would be no town to fight about ;) )
I think that guild-controlled towns is already included in the game.

This guy wants it to be like the Mafia running the darn city :)

I like how you think!

hey it sounds like an awsome idea to me. It would be a good way for guilds to get income and profit its members. If the guards attack an enemy guild, then that wouldnt be player killing because the guards are NPC\'s. Besides that, in guild wars the two opposing guild members will be able to attack each other.

Sounds like a good idea :)
Guild-members should be able to fight each other. But only if they were in war with other guilds. Then PK wouldn\'t affect outside \'neutral\' people.  :))

But then whats to stop these so called \"neutral\" people from wreaking havoc, however indirectly (i.e. spying, sabotage, casting enhancing spells on the other side, etc.) against the other guild therefore upsetting the balance of the guild wars. Kinda like a loophole wherein a handful of \"neutral\" players can really turn the tide of a war cuz the agrieved guild cannot fight back \"directly\".

Just a thought.

When two opposing guilds are engaged in battle, any outside help should simply be disabled. meaning that if a \"neutral\" priest tried to heal a guild member, nothing would happen and the spell would have no affect. problem solved.

but then that would only solve the spell factor though. Still lots of ways a \"neutral\" player can do damage to a guild when he/she is indestructible to them.

What\'s to stop a guild member to quit his/her guild and wreak some havoc and join the guild again?

But then again, after reading my post, i realize that there\'s really no way to combat every possibility except to react to it when the time  comes  :)

Yehey! am now a Cool Newbie! hehe ... don\'t mind me.

You could have area\'s of the town where only guild members could go Like an HQ then if non guild members try to help other guilds they can help to a point but they can\'t do to much..

Yeah, spells like aelya mentioned should be disabled, but other than that, I dont think its a big enough problem to worry about.

If a player is neutral in a guild war (or not in either guild) then PvP will be disabled for that player. Meaning they cannot cast spells or attack or by any means assist either guild. If an item is dropped by a neutral player, neither of the other guilds should be able to pick up the item. All we need here is a system that allows NO outside help when two guilds are engaged in battle. The only exception I can think of is if members from an allied guild come to assist.

As for joining and leaving guilds, there should be a process for that. That isnt something you should be able to do with the click of a mouse.

You could make a system where you can change your guild status every 48 hours...

So you could join or quit a guild every 48 hours so that if you quit then you cant join back for a while or once you start you cant leave for 48 hours (so you can\'t quit guild 1 and join guild 2 the same day)....

And allied guilds would be cool they could help your guild out

if guild warfare was declared, then all neutral players should have their fighting powers disabled and allowed a few minutes to get out. Then there can be an area set aside for the guild war. once u die, u would stay dead. whoever wins the battle wins the land where the battle took place.

Also you should be able to have allies come to your aid.

Or maybe, for the neutral area, and like shadowfax said, allies should be allowed. Maybe a new class should be made, a mercenary class, so that neutrals can take a part as well. Being a mercenary appeals to me anyway.

Or you could just solve the problem by making the world full PvP - muhahaha!

(Anyone who wants to discuss that, meet me in the PvP Forums :D)

(Anyone who disagrees, meet me in the Arena! ;))

Okay so if guilds controled towns, what would happen to the players who arnt in a guild would they be barred from the city or forced to pay a tax just for going there? as for the wars i see nothing wrong with that it would be fun to watch people kill eachother. but i dont un derstand what the people who belong/work for no one would stand on this....
