i just joined this game and i come in with my friend, every minute theres a HUGE pause in lag, is it just us, or is this lag central? :(

wow, just had a thread removed that i posted in a rather light vein concerning the lag in game atm.
...anyway, ain't it laggy right now - is this normal?

There are discussions, and then there are just random comments ;)
This is not normal, no. It may ebb away in a bit and return back to normal. If it doesn't in a while, hopefully someone will give it a poke or restart.
Please be patient for now.

Just wondering if any one thought about the geography of where the server is at? I know that in India this time of year, it is extremly rainy and ther are floods and the telcom's lines go down. Having to speak with people in India on a nightly basis since the internet lines to our centers (at my workplace) go down frequently this time of year due to the flooding and such. That region of the world isn't known for its stable telcom and power lines either. Also, the telcoms over there seem to not work on weekends, I never got that but what do I know.
Anyways, India isn't exactly Singapore, but it is the general area on the bigger picture of how the internet is laid out throught the world. If I recall correctly, right about this time last year, the forums began to be filled with similar threads like this one. All in all, it really isn't something anyone can do anything to fix (unless you want to try weather manipulation) and I suggest that people learn patience. Just think, 10 years ago, 56k dial up was considered "fast".

I have noticed the lag these last couple of days and no this bad of lag is not the norm.
I am hoping that the lag is a result of some change made somewhere, maybe a new addition to the game but this is merely speculation on my part.

i heard the rumour in-game before that some hacker was doing this - i thought they were just kidding/being melodramatic :S
hope it gets better soon anyway...training/chatting/just about anything is impossible atm.

They should find God. If he exists, they should get him to build a reliable server. They should give this holy grail of servers to Plainshift.
They should also give Planeshift the amazing skill to do many of the amazing tasks that they are doing within half the time. Super duper skilled Dev team.
then we can all sit around them on the floor indian style looking up filled with fear and amazment.

i think somebody did find that mythical Server God...cos shortly after posting that i got booted from game then went back in later, and lo and behold all is well.

true, it was the last time and can possibly be again. In details it was a DoS attack
