Title: support for the officials
Post by: Dales Lierin on June 30, 2006, 07:11:24 pm
i for one, who having had much experience with chats and message boards in the past, would like to take an opportunity to speak in support of the GM's and Dev's, today.

a small incident, about a week ago, had me suspicious of the quality of their conclusions.  the event was too small to even mention, and i will not repeat the circumstances.

however, after viewing the pettiness and childishness i have seen posted in the "days of the server down", i have to commend these guys (and gals) for their unwavering patience and controlled tempers.  the youngsters do have the excuse of youth, but even that is an excuse only.  i do feel for those who have just downloaded to find that the download is already outdated.  perhaps those links should be removed, but even those simple tasks take away time from the big picture.

i have seen quick responses to questions, and tireless repeating of the same advice.  i have seen updated work posts that were not required.  do you players think that the Dev's and GM's are REQUIRED to tell you each step of their work?  there are many people who when doing something for YOU, if annoyed too much, would throw up their hands and say..."what's the use?"

several of us have repeated, "patience, patience" to no avail.  i, now, say, if you are willing to wait, wait.  if you are not willing to wait, don't.  it does nothing but cause hard feelings to annoy someone who is doing the utmost of his/her ability.

thank you, officials

After reading the Warcraft forums about when a server goes down I think we are getting off lucky :).

Quite honestly I dont know what all the fuss & bother is about - the server will be back when it's back, and the more we complain, whine, and cry is all that less time the Devs and GM's have to dedicate to testing the new features :P

And while I admit to a certain amount of anticipation :o , I've ALSO learned that the wait is generally well worth it  \\o//. So let's give these people the time to finish testing & debugging the new addies. Besides - the more time they spend responding to useless &/or  :offtopic: posts (basically wiping the noses of those not willing to read & abide by what was said or decided), the more time it will take for the next version to come out.

A post like this makes me happy too, when i read it.
it's somethign totally different than all the compy and paste in other topics.

I hope the server will be back soon too.
The developers do all the work at this moment and are the only ones, who can acces the PS-server.

The Game Masters have to wait for the release too, except the ones who are also a developer.

Great post Dales Lierin. I thought of doing something like it but felt there were already enough thank you threads. The way this post is worded is exactly my thoughts. Way to go Dev's and Gm's. You know we love you. Though I am concerned about DaveG ... as he posted ramblings in IRC the other day, you might want to check up on him and his stress level. :P WAIT!  I take that back ... PLEASE DaveG don't delete me.
