Title: The etadpU
Post by: boz on July 03, 2006, 01:19:50 am
Hello, I downloading planeshift 5 days ago, and have yet to be able to play do to the devs testing updates on the server. I noticed the original update thread was locked, so could anyone inlighten us on the status here?

I'm really interested in playing the game!

These threads are a very bad idea - everyone keeps making them, and I keep repeating the same thing over and over. The update should arrive in 1-2 days. You just need to look around a little more first :) When the update arrives, there will be news, more threads, and updated download links.

So please, do us a favor and search around to see if this has already been answered.

I've come to realize that locking/deleting does absolutely nothing ;)

Yea, it just takes away evidence of others trying and failing; no lessons can be learned that way.   ;D

The update should arrive in 1-2 days.

But... wasnt it 1 - 2 days Yesterday?  :(

Oh well, supose we should be appreciative.  Beats downloading the new client, only do find it crashes everytime you try to kill a mob, so you have to update it, then find it crashes everytime you pass a tree, then update it again, not to mention the other repeat posts from disgruntled users we'd get in the forums.  ;D

If it was 1-2 days yesterday, it can still make sense to say 1-2 days today :P If I said 1 day, it would've been different.

No, you have to say 1 day today.  Not 1-2...unless you had said 1-3 days yesterday.

I win \o/

I think Karyuu must be rethinking the wisdom on not locking this thread  ;) ...respectfully submitted to you of course. Xylaal bows.

I'm just wondering how long people will go on without needing my involvement ;)

The reason why threads go on lilke is that you respond.  So don't respond.  It's become a common theme:

N00b:  When will I be able to play the game?
l33t:  If you just Search and look around before posting *wink smile*  you would find the answer.  Geez if people just wait, we're working on it*wink smile*
Other: Yeah, what he said
Other: Gosh, exactly what he said.
Other: Yeah I want to voice my complaint to.  I'm going to raise my nose up further. *wink smile*
Other: that's right.  when will they learn? and what he said. And *wink smile*

So the lesson is people that are new to the forums don't search before they post.  It's a given fact, its time to accept it.  As I expect they're impatient and if no one responds, they'll start looking for answers eventually.  One of those methods might be using the search function or going on IRC.  So instead of complaining and winking and smiling, let nature take its course.

It's well noted that I'm extending the thread, seemingly making this counterproductive but I've offered a solution to prevent other threads from getting longer.

This might not even be necessary anymore as the update will arrive and inevitably all this shall be a moot point.

Orrrrrrrr, in this threads case..... just having fun. ::) No harm intended, just a little humor, that happens at times. Besides some people like to voice their opinions , even if it really isn't very relevant to a topic. Just human nature. It would be incredibly boring if everything was just stated and we had no humor involved.

I seen the last post that said 1-2 days, but I waited 48 hours to post this thread. I was simply a misinformed noob.

It was worth it though to see all the -I'm inlightened, but lack actual knowledge- type folks post there off the shelf replys. Once again, sorry. Didn't mean to get all your village idiots lauphin and makeing irrelevent posts.
