I press the shortcut and see theloading screen. Then it dissapears. I'm not sure what's wrong.
-
I'm not sure what you're even saying.
Please post a lot more information, and describe what's actually happening. We're not psychic here.
-
Opps the furom ate my post. When I press the shortcut icon, the loading screen for planeshift comes up. Then bam! It's gone. No processes running or anything. I don't get an error message, the game just dissapears off my screen.
-
Define "shortcut icon". You mean when you click the shortcut in the start menu and load up the game, or a button in the shortcut bar in-game? (I'm guessing you mean the former)
If the game doesn't load at all, my guess is that you might not meet the system requirements (http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?topic=21500.0). Please post your system specs, namely your CPU, graphics card, and RAM.
-
Yeah I'd say it could be the System Requirements that you don't meet since a similar thing happened to a friend of mine.
-
By shortcut Icon I mean the one in the start menu. This is odd becuse the game has always run before, with very little lag.

A similar thing is happening to me on the Mac version. It gets to the loading screen and then, almost right before the game would start, it vanishes. It doesn't even say "ps_client quit unexpectedly" or whatever, it just disappears.
...OK, never mind. It turns out it was because I had "load all maps" on. So, don't use "load all maps" if you want to play the game.

It would work more than likely, if you had a real graphics card. Built in just doesn't cut it most of the time.

Hey. It's not my computer and if I change the card it voids the warentty. My parents decide these things not me. This iss odd, becuse I can run SEED and the Sims 2, but notPlaneshift, which ran fine before?
-
It works now. :)
-
I have the same problem. I start planeshift and after few seconds suddenly the window (with the loading image and the progress bar) vanishes, and abruptely exits without notificating any exception. My computer is a bit old (700mhz pentium), but planeshift worked fine until now.
Salut

I reinstalled. I don't know what was up. I didn't run the updater, so I know that wasn't it.
