Title: Doesn't work
Post by: Renaud on July 09, 2006, 01:02:57 pm
Hi !

I'm French and I'm a little bit lost in this big forum. I've download(ed ?) Planeshift CristalBlue on Linux. I work on a 64 bits SuSE Linux edition, and my processor (Intel Celeron D 331) can work with 32 or 64 bits. But, as I started loading the game, I saw a message telling me that Planeshift CrystalBlue (is there an "abreviation" for the name of the game ? It's quite long...) worked better with 24 or 32 bits... The game loaded, I wrote my email adress and my password, after having registered myself on the site, but the only server that was proposed to me was written as "failed". Moreover, the game was very very slow - I don't think this is the normal speed.

Can't I play this game because of my 64 bits edition ?

Sorry if this subject isn't where it should be.

Hello!

The message You see (about 24 or 32 bits) says about number of colors. You are probably using 16-bit mode (65536 colors). Change configuration of X-Windows so it uses 24 or 32 bit color mode (milions of colors). This should improve performance.

Make sure You have installed Planeshift version  0.3.015. Linux version is not officially released yet, read recent threads on Linux Specific Issues (http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?board=41.0). I'm not sure if 64-bit version of client is already available (if not - it will be soon).
