Title: How are you supposed to start in this game?

Hi, I just made my first character today he's got 98 STR but I haven't been able to kill a single rat even if I was using Bloody Stance and was attacking it for my whole Stamina 3 times in a row all that came up is "You hit the rat but failed to inflict any damage"
I've also tried to beg for 100 trias by the merchant in town without success
I've also looked for quest but all of them requires at least a bit of money

So... what can I do?

1. That you can't do damage is a bug, which will be fixed.
2. There are some quests which do not efford any money at all... keep looking :) (or ask some players ingame)

NPCs don't like it when you beg - they usually have a few quick sharp words for such people :P

If you can't find anything to do due to the combat bugs right now, do something like meet people, make friends, roleplay, look around for guilds if you'd like, explore every corner of the world, etc. This can be a very fun place.
