I'll get you guys computer specs when here in a little, but right now the problem i'm having is some graphic streeks running thru the front screen. What would be some issues? i have a GeForce 4
-
have to wait a while i think the GMs stoped comming and looking in the tech help stuff about 2 hours ago
-
If you're having 'tearing' issues, then perhaps you should check to see if you are using the latest version of the driver for your video card. If not, try updating it.
-
Biruno, please try to post with useful content.
SwitchAvenger, we would need your system specs in your beginning post - they usually can pinpoint a problem right away when it comes to graphical errors, but in the case that your rig isn't a problem - make sure your graphics card drivers are updated, and please post a screenshot of what you are seeing (or a link to one). There is a How To thread in the Forum Issues section on pasting images into the forum.

:offtopic: i thought that would be usfull just off topic just saying i hadent seen any GM posts in the tech help section in about 2 hours

I haven't seen any GM posts in the tech help section for a few days :) GMs are Game Masters. They deal with issues in the game itself. Perhaps you mean devs instead.

Hehe sorry about not posting spec about the computer. Forgot all that i stuck in my box, built the orginial system in 2000 and it has gone through a few motherboard and this that and the other. Anyway using a AMD 1.3 Ghz CPU, Biostar Mobo, NVIDIA GeForce 4 MX440 64MB, 512 MB of ram, XP platform SP2. If updating the drivers doesn't help i'll shoot up some screenshots of what the screen looks like.
Thanks for the input, I'm also experencing some pretty big lag issues, but i turn down all the graphics and made it look bad, works better like that, but takes away from the whole experence from the game.
Just wanted to say game looks great to the guys who designed it!
Heres what it looks like btw (http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m89/Vuvalun/glitch.jpg)

http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_91.31.html
There you'll find updated drivers for your graphic card and OS.
It should solve the issue.
When you manage to enter the game, if you still have that lag you talked about, try this:
go to options ("o" shortcut) then graphics, details, and lower the fps cap from 62 (its default value) to 30.
This should reduce the stress on your system, and you should not notice any perceptible visual difference, give it a try.

Sorta :offtopic:/ not useful info.
that really looks strange but in a way its pretty :)

Look at point 7, it will amaze you.
Next time: READ and SEARCH.

But is that really the answer? It doesn't look like text corruption to me... Anyway I'm having the same issue on ATI since 0.3.015:
example of corrupted inventory window (http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/2553/26qk.png).
The same happens randomly though frequently in pretty much any window, either in fullscreen or not. Strictly speaking, it's not reproducible and fiddling with the different options doesn't solve it. But: once one window shows these artifacts, closing it and opening it again in the same session shows exactly the same pattern. Likewise, if a window is not corrupted, it will not be corrupted later.
0.3.015b client
Windows XP Pro (SP2)
Athlon64 3200+ 939
ASUS A8N-SLI, 1GB PC3200
ATI X800XL, 256MB (latest Catalyst driver update)

That problem you are having is related to your software, not the hardware. It's possible you're having a driver issue, I'll check that out.
I can tell the issue the TS is describing is specific to his geforce4 because I also had it, adding the 2 lines as described in the Tech stickie fixed that for me.
Of course it's possible it might be something else, but as long the TS doesn't say if adding the two lines fixed it for him or not, I just assume that's not the case
-
Wait and see, hopefully he'll tell whether the problem was solved or not. It's strange because the symptoms are really the same but adding those two lines didn't change anything here, and the current drivers are quite stable even with other demanding games.
-
Of course that doesn't change anything for you, because they're meant for Geforce4 MX cards
But eh, I checked out the 6.6 drivers from Ati, and they seem fine, no corruption whatsoever.
I have almost the same pc as you have: X800 XL, A8N-E, AMD64 3200+, 1 GB mem, Win XP Home SP2.
