READ FIRST: Rules that apply within this thread:
(entries in which these rules are not obeyed will be deleted) only for realistic roleplayers. (Fun and jokes are allowed ofcourse ;))
1. Roleplay only your OWN actions. Surroundings, NPC/monster actions, events that happen in-game and damage are ALL descibed by the GM.
2. DON\'T use high level spells/movements/actions. The GM will be forced to let those actions work against you if you\'re not at the level of this action yet.
3. Players can not decide themselves where they start in game. All players start on the same spot with the same level, resulting in multiple storylines through eachother. keep track of your own storylin, the GM will begin each thread with a list of the players involved in the current action. DON\'T reply on GM\'s desciptions in which your name is not mentioned. It is possible for players to meet in game though, but it\'s up to the GM to arrange this. New players start in the town center decibed below.
4. things said to the GM/by the GM/by other players out of the game have to begin with \"ooc:\" (out of character). example:
\"ooc: GM, I would like to encounter a gnome...\"
5. Each of my posts gets a number, (on top of the post, in the post subject, put it on top of your reply too, so that I can see which players respond to which description!
6. post a desciption of your character in your first post. (including race/age/weapon-don\'t make it too powerful/starting spells/items(not too special)
it\'s only six rules, but they make this game more organised than other roleplays.
example of play:
GM: Player1/Player2/Player3 In front of you is a large stone door, and you can hear faint noises through it. When you lay your ear against it you can clearly make out orcish gibbering. The orcs on the other side of the door do not seem aware of your presence. the decription of the gm
Player1: I ready my armor and tighten my grip on my longsword. I move away from the door, and putting in all my strength, I run into the door, trying to bash it open. Does it open? player1 descibing his actions
GM: Player1/Player2/Player3 BANG! your shoulder bangs into the door, but apparently it doesn\'t open, you damaged you shoulder buckler, but the door didn\'t move a bit. The orcs on the other side are aware of you presence now, and you hear raw voices shouting commands and clattering of weapons. They seem to be with many... As you rub your painful shoulder, you hear sounds of what seems like a barricade being moved. The ocs quiet for a moment, but all of a sudden you hear a command and the next moment pieces of stone fly around your ears! Three orcs jump into the room through the doorway-which is now open- Player1: One of them attacks you immediately, you smell his rotten breath as he leaps forward. Player2: you get no attacks, as for you\'re on the far end of the room. player3: the other two orcs storm towards you, their scimitars rised high above their ugly heads. You go first in your attack, because you were prepared. Players: what are your actions? the decription of the gm
Player1: I try to jump out of the way of the orc leaping towards me, and strike him at the same time. I slip though, and I hope my sword hits him whilest I\'m falling. player1 descibing his actions, including his own failure(you may describe your own failure, but not someone elses)
Player2: I cast a jelly spell on the doorway, hoping to block the door player2 descibing her actions
player3: I cast a fireball on the two orcs and while I\'m doing that I jump into the air. player3 not obtaining the 2nd rule, this is his first encounter and a fireball is way too powerfull for him
GM: Player1/Player2/Player3
Player1: your longsword slashes the orcs right leg. He falls onto the ground and grabs his heavily bleeding leg with both hands. He is heavily wounded, and you will not have to be afraid he will attack you again.
Player2: a spray of colourful lights shoots forth from your fingertops, and some orcs just trying to get into the room experience an invisible wall blocking their way.
player3: \"ooc:you did not follow rule number2, and you will suffer the consequenses. try to obey the rules\" the two orcs leaping towards you both raise their shields, expecting such an attack. The heat doesn\'t seem to bother them much, and while you lift off one of them manages to grab your left foot. While you continue to fly up, the orc grabs tighter, and with a might blow he strikes you in the upper leg. You lose your concentration and you both fall down 3 meters.the orc who grabbed your leg is knocked unconsious by you landing on his head. Your leg hurts like it was cut of, and as you look down, you see it almost is! the orcish scimitar carved a deep dirty wound in your flesh, and you can even see your bone...
Now it\'s the orc\'s turn! The orc player1 struck is still crying out loud and swearing orcish curses. He can\'t do anything. The second orc is knocked unconcious, but the third orc is still alert! he leaps forward towards player3 and trikes hime traight at the helmet. The orcs behind the invisible wall are still stuck, but they seem to make some progress, the wall is fading... now what do you do player2 and player3? player1, you\'re still uncouncious so you\'ll have to pass this turn. the GM descibing what happens, and giving player3 a penalty for not obeying the rules. if a thread isn\'t undoable, it will be deleted.
I hope everything\'s clear, send a PM when you have a question.
now let\'s play!
You find yourself lying in a small ally, curled up against the wall between a pile of dirt and a rainbarrel. You can\'t remember how you got where you are... As you struggle to your feet and walk out of the rather smelly ally, you notice the main road of whats eems to be a little town is quite deserted. Apart from a farmer who is slowly steering his ox-cart over the muddy road, you don\'t see any other living being. On both sides of the road are small overhanging houses with one floor, of which most of the shutters are closed. That isn\'t too odd though, according to the light in the streets you can make out it\'s early in the morning. Further down the road is a tavern called \"The flaming Troll\" (made clear with a sign that displays a troll with burning hairs holding a large pint of ale).
-
Shaking slightly from the morning cold Lenric cracks his stiff neck back into place from the uncomfortable sleeping position running a strong hand through his auburn locks pulling a stray wisp from his sparkling blue-green eyes he sniffs disfavorable as he wonders how he came to this place as he saunters back into the alley gazing around running his left hand across his shoulders feeling for his fathers blade strapped tightly to his strong slender frame while dipping his hand into his vest feeling for his coinpurse as he makes his way to the rainbarrel.
Glancing around he peers into the depths of the barrel and plunges his hands into the icey depths cupping the water he draws it high over head and shivers as the cold droplets fall from his head and chin as he procedes to clean himself wryly hoping that his comb and topknot are still among his possesions.
Smiling widely in relief at the faint reflection of a human being he sees withen the barrels reflection he dusts himself off and strides out with a easy relaxed stride towards the tavern in the hopes of finding a hot meal and a little information as to what town he has made his way too...furrowing his brow in wonderment as to how he came to be in such a dire predictament.
Walking steadily to the tavern with a open smile upon his face he stops for a minute at the front of the door before trying to enter listening to the noises from withen and smelling the aromas wafting from the establishment.
Then with a shake of his head thinking about the tavern keeper noticing him earlier he places a hand upon the door and pushes it open calmly squinting as he walks in not wanting to wait to long and attract to much attention to himself gawking at the entrance.

As you step inside, a quick look around learns you that you won\'t have to fear suspicious countryfolk in this tavern, as it\'s deserted. In the small room, which is dimly lit due to closed shutters, are 5 tables and in the far end is a bar. Behind it is a cupboard containing several multicolored bottles. The man you saw earlier is apparently not in this room, but behind the bar is a doorway to another room. Strangely enough the walls are decorated with all sorts of hats. As you curiously stare at what seems to be a \"plumbers cap\" according to a small sign under it, you suddenly hear a male voice talking to you.
\"I know what you\'re thinking stranger! This isn\'t exactly what I had in mind when i started running a tavern, but sometimes things don\'t go as you planned...\"
As you towards the bar, you see it wasn\'t the fat man you saw earlier who spoke to you, but a skinny, bald man with a friendly face. just like the man you saw earlier he\'s wearing an apron.
\"How can I help you? as you can see, we\'re not open yet...\"
-
Smiling good naturely Lenric nods towards the collection of hats along the wall and states matter of factly \'Yes I can see that my good fellow i was just stopping in and thought perhaps I might find a bite to eat \'.Turning back towards the man \"I couldnt help but notice these fine hats you have here be yea a collecter of some sort ?

(ooc: is this taking place in Yliakum, or somewhere else?
Also: do you mind if I narrate in past tense? I\'m a writer, and i\'m used to using past tense)
I groaned and sat up slowly. My head felt like a band of goblins were using it for their war drums. A wave of blackness pulsed over my vision, and I nearly passed out again. I put a hand to the side of my head, only to find a sizeable lump there, along with some dried blood caking my hair. Nothing else seemed to be wrong with me; all my limbs worked properly, and I had no pain beyond stiff muscles from lying in this contorted position for most of the night.
\"I suppose I should be thankful for that, at least,\" I muttered - or tried to; my throat was almost too dry to speak.
I shakily pulled myself to my feet using the rain barrel, and when my head had stopped swimming, I splashed some cool water on my face. That cleared some of the cobwebs from my mind. A little more water cleaned the blood from my hair, which appeared to be shoulder length and light brown.
Now that the pain had subsided to a bearable level, I tried to remember how I had ended up here. Not surprisingly, I had no memories of the night before. I also had no memories of anything before that, much to my dismay. I frantically cast my mind back, but everything before ten minutes ago was just a fog that I couldn\'t pierce, no matter how hard I tried.
Eventually my head started pounding again, and I was forced to give up. There was enough light to see my reflection in the water of the rain barrel; I was a moderately handsome man, clean-shaven, with long light brown hair, blue eyes, and deeply tanned skin. The face in the water didn\'t look familiar, sadly, even though it appeared that I had worn it for some twenty-odd years.
I was wearing a green tunic over pants of the same color, both of a lighteight material and nondescript weave. My equipment was more enlightening: a long bow, obviously well-cared for, and a quiver of white-fletched arrows sat nearby; a long sword, its hilt well-worn, hung from my belt, balanced by a dagger. A search of one of my two belt pouches revealed flint and steel, a vial of oil and a polishing rag, a few feathers (white), and a spare bowstring. The other was empty; it must have held my money.
Apparently I was an adventurer of some sort. That explained a little. Maybe the man who had been watching me could explain some more, like how I had gotten here. I picked up my bow and quiver, slung the former over my shoulder and the latter from my belt, and slowly walked over to the open door.
-
Lenric
\"Ah, yes, I can tell you about that, but you sure look like you don\'t get enough to eat...\"
The man says, and after eximining you from head to toe;
\"but you seem like a decent feller to me. We just happen to serve breakfest for ourselves, so if you would like to, you might join our meal. \"
Your stomic rumbles, and this offer seems too kind to refuse. After all, you came in here for something to eat...
Lenric: \"That\'s very kind of you, I would love to join your table. Whatever it is, it smell\'s delicious!\"
it\'s rude to ask what\'s cooking in such an occasion, so you don\'t ask. The man gestures you to come over, and he walks into the other room. As you walk around the bar to reach the doorway, you hear some cooking noises and some talking in a foreign, for you unfamiliar language.
Then much louder : \"you can call me Yonnic by the way, everyone in town calls me like that.\"
You enter the room, which is about 4x 3 meters. Almost all the walls are covered with shelves full of bottles, jar\'s, vegetables, and many undefinable things. In the middle of the opposite wall you see an exceptionally small door and a fireplace. In the center of the room is a long table, with two benches. All around the floor are pots and pans and barrels. The skinny man is stiring a large pot above the fireplace, from which delicious odours drift towards you. The fat man is sitting at the table, and he still seems to be cleaning the same mug.
\"sit down my friend,\" the fat man says, continuing to clean his towel, \" My name is Ollowin. What does a foreigner like you seek in this small town so early in the morning? Most travelers stay inside at this hour of the day...\"
-
kerrick
(ooc: you\'ll have to find that out yourself... no problem with pt, but it makes the storyline a little different...)
As you just want to enter the door, you hear the ox-cart stopping behind you.
With a cracking voice you hear the man on the cart saying (just a little louder than he should): \"Stranger, watch were ya goin\'... It\'s rather fishy in there... I wouldn\'t mind yur buissness, but I kno\' brave adventurers who don\'t even dare going there... \" As you turn around, you see the man sitting on his cart, starng straight into your eyes. His looks don\'t comfort you... He wears a dirty brown robe, and his eyes seem to be too close to eachother. If you tried to, you might even smell his plucky dirty beard from where you are...
\"I don\'t he fear them\" the man cracks, \"but I wouldn\'t go in there if i were you...\"
At the same moment, you hear a creacking noise, and from the corner of your eye you see a shutter opening on the top floor of one of the buildings. it only opens a little, and behind it you can see a pale female face.
-
Lenric moves over carefully to the table stepping through the refuse nodding slightly to Ollowin in greeting as he pulls out a stool and plops comfortably down on it remarks\" yes it is quite early forgive my intrusion alas you might think im quite daft but for the life of me I cannot recall how I made my way to this villa my name is Lenric\" Holding out his hand in greeting for a moment then noticing through no slight Ollowin is still cleaning the mug takes it back .
\"I fear that i must of taken a wrong turn somewhere or perhaps the good spirits have led me to your door as the last thing i recall was going to sleep in a warm meadow\'.
\'Would you be so kind as to inform me good fellow as to the name of this town and what I might be able to do to give some recompsense for you allowing me to share your morning feast?

A man lies in an alley, he is human though of slightly larger build than most and would certainly stand slightly more than 6-foot when upright. He has fiery golden hair and a rugged but young face he cannot be much more 20 years of age.
Koran slowly gains consciousness to find himself laying curled up on the ground. A sharp pain in his broard shoulders snaps open his blue/grey eyes. He twists around to find a small metal figurine made in resemblance of a fury animal of some sort. He tries to remember if he has seen its like before or if belongs to him.
With a start he jumps to his feet and looks around to realise he cant remember anything at all about the figurine or how he got here. He reasons that he must have drunk too much the night before but can?t even remember who he was drinking with or where. He shrugs dismissivly and looks down to find himself to wearing a worn leather jerkin and boots and a pair of roughly woven brown trousers.
He looks around for his belongings and finds them scattered around him. He has a backpack, dagger, 10-foot rope and an average looking bastard sword. Walking over to the water barrel he sheathes his sword and puts his dagger in his boot and the other items including the metal figurine in his backpack.
Scooping up a handful of water he splashes it liberally over his head. \"Ahhhh that?s better\" he mumbles. Before him he sees what looks like a tavern, in the back of his head he remembers his father telling him that Taverns are a good place to find adventure. He strolls off towards the tavern.

(ooc: please add the number of the post you\'re replying to as a subject)
\"Don\'t we all have that sometimes Lenric? strange things have happened in this town lately... most people don\'t feel safe anymore. we notice that in our buissness...\" replies Ollowin. and he finally stops cleaning his mug. He puts it down, and steps up from his bench to get a large darkbrown bread fom one of the shelves. From another shelve he gets a large knife and four wooden naps. \"This town went queit,\" speeks Yonnic, while he lifts the pot from the fire with a towel. \"we don\'t see many strangers in these districs, and every variation is welcome. \" Yonnic puts the pot on the table, and begins pouring a brownish glue-like substance into the wooden naps. The substance deosn\'t look as tasteful by far as it smells. After filling the naps, Yonnic sits down next to Ollowin, on the other side of the table from where you are. Ollowin rips of a piece of the bread and dips it into the brown stuff. As he brings the lump to his mouth a string forms between the nap and his hand, which doesn\'t look very tasteful either. A strange silence falls as the two men begin to eat, the only thing to be heard in the silence is a faint bubbeling which comes from the pot on the fire.
-
I turn to glance up at the window, then back to the man.
He looked like he had woken up in a back alley himself, and smelled like it too. Still, there was something in his tone that made me listen to him.
\"And why would that be?\" I asked.

Kroan
As you walk towards the tavern (which is quite far away) you see a man coming from an ally, look around, and walk into the tavern. Not shortly after, another man comes from another ally, and starts walking to the same tavern. juest before he wants to enter the door though, a cart stops in front of him, and the two change some words. What the man on the cart says is not very clear from where you are, but you can make out some words.
His accent is too trange though to be able to make out the whole sentence.
You continue walking, and you\'re now at +/- 15 meters from the man in front of the tavern (heavily armed with shoulderlong lightbrown hair.) and the man on the cart (a muddy farmer).
Kroan: you can act to the actions which begin with kerrick/kroan
-
Kerrick/Kroan:
ooc: you both react to the same thread now (kerrick/kroan 3, and following threads, untill one of you makes an action that separates you. When you interact with eachother, do it under subject: # kerrick/kroan)
the man looks swiftly around, and then begins to speak with a low pitched voice \"I shouldn\'t tell you this in here but... \" at that moment, the coud turns ink black. The figure in the window closes the shutters with a bang, and a supernatural terror falls upon you. You can\'t help it but fall to your knees as cover your head. You hear the man screaming, a moment later it\'s like nothing happened. As you both look up, you first take a quick peek at eachother, and then at the cart. On the cart lies a body of the farmer. motionless. His eyes are wide open, and his face expresses fear. it seems like he\'s frozen. The ox shuffels a bit in the mud, and then slowly begins to move forward.
-
Kroan speeds up his pace a little as he strides towards the tavern. He rubs the hilt of his sword with his hand and wonders over seeing so much activity near a tavern this early in the morning. The heavily armed man currently conversing with the farmer appears to have been distracted, because he looks up to a window of one of the houses and then continues his conversation. He strains to catch what the two men are saying but can only make out the occasional word.
By the looks of the brown haired man Kroan guesses him to be an adventurer, \"so dad seems to have been right this tavern looks a likely place for adventure\" he says to himself with a small smile. Kroan attempts to get their attention by waving at them.
-
Kroan dusts himself off and gapes at the body of the frozen framer. \"What just happened, is he dead?\" he says to Kerrick. Kroan reaches over takes the rains of the ox and tries to calm it. He then offers his free right hand to Kerrick \"Hi, we meet under strange consequences. My name is Kroan\".
-
Grabbing onto a piece of bread lenric tears it off while pulling the nap of gooey glue like substance closer for inspection appraising it wondering what it is as he shears a piece of bread off with his strong teeth chewing slowly .
Glancing back at Ollowin exclaims \"where our my manners i forgot to wash up \'
Lenric then stands up and looks around for a privy to wash up and relieve himself .
-
[ooc: ack! I have some catching up to do! lol]
The sky suddenly darkened overhead, and a wave of unreasoning terror suddenly overtook me. I dropped to my knees with the force of it. The despair washed away my will; I wanted to just curl up in a ball and make it go away.
And then, just as suddenly as it had come, the black cloud went away, and with it the terror. I slowly rose to my feet. The farmer lay on his back in the wagon with a horrid expression on his face, like he had seen Death itself.
\"What just happened?\" a voice asked from my left. \"Is he dead?\"
I turned to see another man standing nearby. He grabbed the traces with one hand just as the ox started to wander off and extended the other to me. \"Hi, we meet under strange circumstances. My name is Kroan.\"
I dusted myself off and shook his hand. \"Arin,\" I replied, pulling a name off the top of my head. Something told me that advertising my amnesia was not a good idea. \"Did you see what just happened?\"
-
(occ: is it ok to continue the conversation or do we have to wait for a response from you each time Thekkur? If I should of waited just delete the post :)
The brown haired man seemed to hesitate for a split second before replying \"Arin\". Kroan being close now he could see that he had blue eyes and was clean-shaven \"Did you see what just happened?\" Arin said.
Kroan scratches his head thoughtfully \"Well I had just reached the cart and suddenly had a feeling of terrible dread, I seemed to automatically fall to my knees and when I came up that man was, well like that\" he gestured towards the farmer. Kroan looks around suspiciously \"I am not sure I like this place\" he motions towards the door of the tavern \"As I was walking I saw a guy walk in there just before you and the farmer got here\". Kroan looks thoughtfully at Arin \" what did the man say to you before he eerrrr... well froze?\"
-
but there seems to be no washing place in the room...
\"ah,\" says ollowin, and he stands up from his bench, still chewing on a lump of bread-with brown paste.
He walks over to the little door, an and pushes it open.
Yous ee it leads out of the building. Ollowin;\"There\'s a sink outside. \" He waits next to the door for you to go out.
Yonnic; \"Ollowin, it gets cold in here. close the door please.\"
Ollowin:\"our gues hasn\'t washed up yet. didn\'t you hear him saying that?\"
Yonnic: \"you know I can\'t hear that good Ollowin... now shut that door.\"
Ollowin acts like he didn\'t hear Yonnic, and keeps his post next to the door. It all seems a little weird to you, how these people react...
-
ooc: You can keep communicating with eachother. I will post again when you do something that needs my decription. (or if you seem to be stuck in an endless conversation)... don\'t reply to thsic thread, this is only ooc
-
[ooc: I\'ll try present tense, see if that works a little better.]
I shake my head and shrug. \"He just said he didn\'t think I should go in there\" - I jerked a thumb over my shoulder toward the tavern - \"and he was about to add something else when he... died.\"
-
ooc Can Lenric see into the room or outside ?
-
you can see outside, but because the door is so small (about 1 m 20) you can only see a sandy ground.
-
as you have a little chat, a door nearby opens, and you see a pale face looking swiftly outside.
\"come in here! it\'s not safe outside! quick quick! they\'re coming!\"
and indeed, something is coming. far away you hear the thundering sound of many hoofs.
-
[ooc: Good. I think Kroan quit posting or something... If you hadn\'t posted something, Thekkur, I would have lol]
A door opens nearby and a pale face peers out. It looked like the woman I had seen earlier in the window.
\"Come in here!\" she urged. \"It\'s not safe outside! Quick quick! They\'re coming!\"
\"Who-\" I started to ask, then I heard it - the pounding of hooves. Whoever \"they\" were, there were a lot of them. I had the sudden feeling that standing on the street beside a dead man in a wagon would not be a good place to be when \"they\" found me. I ducked through the door.
-
(ooc: Nope I have not quit, its the board it wont always let me sign in :( )
Kroan was just pondering what to do with the ox and cart when he heard a quite voice say, \"Come in here! It\'s not safe outside! Quick quick! They\'re coming!\"
With this he turns to the sound of the voice to see a pale face peering out of a nearby door. A look of recognition flashes across Arins face. Arin starts to asks \"Who\" but cuts off as the sound of many hooves drifts down the street. Kroan quickly decides he has no choice but to get off the street or face who ever they are. Kroan follows Arin as he ducks through the door. At least he thinks I no longer have to wonder over what to do with the dead man and his cart.
-
The darkness clears from my vision, as I rise to one knee, and then stand, in the dirt filled ally. My name, is Flegran, and I am a Klyros of a youthfull day. My age is unknown to me, as I was raised by a group of lemur who discovered my abandonned self in childhood, and have raised me to what I am now. I wield a very basic Enkindukai weapon... the Takenai Staff-blade. As these thoughts pass through my mind, my purpose has been restored. I must find the theives guild... Mantodar will pay. Mantodar is the one who killed my parents, and deserted me in the wilderness of the second level. I run from the alley, or attempt to do so, for my legs are weak and badly bruised. I feel that my Takenai is strapped to my back as it was earlier, and I make my way down a road at the end of the allyway.

lenric pauses for a moment as he appears to look out searchingly with his eyes then after the moment he squints and walks through the opening mindful of where his feet are going

5 kerrick/kroan
the room you enter is about 4x4 meters. it\' candellit, and theres\' some cupboards, a table with four chairs, and a large chest. There\'s a fireplace, bur there\'s no fire in it. In the far left corner is a ladder, which leads to another room above this one. As you turn around, you see a woman in a brown robe shut the door behind you and lock it. You hear many hooves outside now, and the woman speeds towards the ladder in the corner.
With terror on her face she whispers you to follow her.
As you quickly climb the ladder behind her a loud bang on the door makes you speed up. In the room you enter are a bed and a chest. The woman starts removing a plank from the floor, and under it you see a small space.
\"get in quickly!\" she commands
and as youwork yourself into the tiny space, you see she opens the shutters in the back of the room. On your chest you shove through the space between the floor and the ceiling, and after you made some room, the woman joins you, and returns the plank to it\'s former place. It\'s dark, and the only thing you can see is a little light that falls through the cracks in the floor. You find youre\\self panting, and the woman whispers withoutmoving \"shhh!they\'re comming!\"
and indeed, they are coming. You hear someone climbing the ladder, and then you hear heavy metal shoes step onto the wooden floor. Somebody else climbs the ladder. It\'s quiet for moment, but then a deep malevoice speeks in a language you don\'t understand. The voice seems irritated, and you shiver as you hear the word \"death\" fall in his sentence.
Another dark voice answers. The first voice commands something, and you hear hurrying feet down the ladder.
After a while you hear shouting outside, and fighting noises, klinging of metal. Shouting, screaming, and then the hooves of many horses fading away in the distance.
The woman removes the plank, and you squeeze out of the narrow space. It\'s only now that you see she is very pretty. Her long black hair falls over her nicely carved shoulders, and her gesture are like elvish. Shehas a terrifies look in her eyes though, and you see that she has suffered great.
\"my name is Eloion\"she speaks, \"we don\'t see many strangers here. what is it that you seek in the cursed town of Dobehan?\"
-
In the distance you see two men standing next to a cart. You can\'t see what\'s on the cart, because it came from your way. All of a sudden the two men turn towards an opening door, look up, and then run towards the door. AS they disappear you hear the sound of many hooves, and a strange terrifying feeling comes over you. You feel it\'s better not to stay in the middle of the road, and you haste yourself to the side of the road where, under a lean-to, some barrels are stored. You hear the horses stop by the cart, and you hear someone shouting commands in a dark voice, speaking a language you don\'t understand. As you carefully peek over the barrels, you see six black steeds, partly covered with armor. They all stamp furiously, but only one is occupied. On top of the horse is a heavily build man. He wears a black steel helmet, and a rough beard covers the lower half of his face. A black cape is draped over his shoulders, and under it you can make out black chainmail. You can\'t see what weapons he is bearing.
The man looks backwards, and as you follow what he looks at you see another man, with the same looks as the other, who is tying a commoner upto his horse. The commoner seems dead to you.
It\'s obvious that the two men are waiting for the others, and just as you wonder what they are waiting for, you hear fighting noises coming from the tavern.
-
You bow your head to walk through the small door, and as you look up, you see you\'r in an inner court of about 10x10 meter. The court has a 3 meter high stone wall around it, with on the right side two large wooden doors. In the far right end is a small barn. In the left corner is an outhouse, with a pump next to it. There\'s some barrels under the lean-to that\'s attached to the inn, and an ox-cart is parked in front of the barn. In the middle of the court is an old apple-tree, but there\'s no leaves on it.
You enter the outhouse to relieve yourself, but just as you sit down, you hear the sound of many hooves draw near. The hooves stop, and in the sistance you hear shouting. A strange terrifying feeling comes over you, and you feel something\'s wrong...
-
(occ: Hello Firestorm welcome to the FUN :). Kerrick I will leave you to decide if we tell her the truth or concoct a story hehe ;))
Kroan rubs ruefully at a long scratch down his left arm that he got when hurriedly crawling under the floor.
He looks to Arin and then to the Eloion \"Who were they and why are you so scared Eloion?\" Kroan puts his hand on his sword hilt and scowls \"Who are they to make you hide in your own house, are they bandits?\"
Suddenly Kroan takes his hand from his sword and bows to Eloion. \"I am sorry where are my manners it must be all the strangeness of today, my name is Kroan and I thank you for hiding me and my..... associate Arin\" Kroan gestures to Arin \"As for why we are here......\".

Lenric quickly pulls his oilcloth breeches back up and quietly as much as posible shifts the door open so he might peer out bravely pushing back the feeling of dread that overcomes him for a moment.
His hand reflexing strays towards the pommel of his blade feeling a bit more secure .
As he peers through the crack listening standing ready to dart out if need be.

(ooc: Thank you for the welcome Kroan, this looks to be quite fun. :) )
As the sound of a raging battle filled the air, Flegran became aware of the current situation. Flegran waited for the black caped rider, to move farther toward the tavern where the battle was taking place, before extending his wings and flying to a hight of 50 feet. As he had practiced many times, he possitioned himself in flight as to look more animal than klyros. Hopefully the men had not seen him. He landed on the opposite side of the street, behind the tavern. A voice could be heard through a small door at the back of the tavern... it said, \"Kranugel Drunarzi Death Mortolos.\" Although the language was at first un-clear to Flegran, he did know the language which had just been spoken. Having not heard it since the day his parents had died, Flegran had took a while to realise. That man spoke the secret language of the Theiven Guild. Recognizable by its strange accent, it is spoken among the guild, and is the reason than those who enter the guild may never leave it. Those who know the language remain theives until death. Mantodar could not be far, as the guild hunted treasure as a single vicious pack, carrying more stolen property than they could alone. Flegran would have his revenge.
these disciptions are \"against the rules\" and I consider them as not spoken. you just land behind the tavern, and will ahve to wait untill I give a desciption of what happens and what you see. Please obey the rules, it will make the game more fun. (you don\'t know what\'s going to happen) I will bare in mind that you are seeking for revenge, and you might have it later on, but the dicision is up to me, the GM.

as you peek out you see Ollowin closed the small door behind you. For a few moments nothing happens, but then the door bashes open, and a man staps out. He wears a black steel helmet, and a rough beard covers the lower half of his face. A black cape is draped over his shoulders, and under it you can make out black chainmail. In his right hand is a black steel longsword. The man steps a few paces forward, and then holds still. slowly he moves his head from the left to the right, carefully examining every little detail with his eyes, he seems to be searching for something... then his eyes fall onto the slightly opened door of the outhouse, and he stares right at you. Then his body turns, and with a steady pace he strides towards your hiding place! How could this be? he could have never seen you through that crack! but then you see the heart carved out of the door... he must have seen your shoulder through that! you quickly spin around, looking for a way to escape.
You notice that the outhouse is very ramshackle. This is a matter of seconds!
-
Lenric pulls open the door and strides out nonchalantly las if he owns the place nodding to the man in greeting as he turns down the towards the Tavern door warily keeping a discreat distance from the armored man .
ooc : if the man walks withen 10 feet of Lenric he hails him in greeting and Bravely says\"good morning sir\"while drawing his katana and reaching into his pouch with his other hand cupping some finely ground pepper.\"bit early for this I have only had a crust of bread for my morning meal and cannot see how i might of slighted you in any way.
ooc len will try to throw the pepper into the mans eyes and go for the mans legs or unarmored body parts when the oppurtunity presents itself defending until the man leaves an opening if not he will howl like a banshee in hopes of startling his opponent.
-
ooc: edit you post. youre not in the streets, you\'re in an inner court, surrounded by 3m hight stone walls. The man appears aggresive. (he\'s wielding a sword remember). it\'s your choice, but in such an occasion i wouldn\'t say \"good day sir\" to someone... remember the strange fear coming over you...
-
(ooc: Well since I don\'t KNOW the truth [I lost my memory, remember?] I\'ll have to improvise...}
I climb out of the floor and brush some dust from my hair.
Before I can reply to the elf woman\'s question, Kroan breaks in, asking why she\'s hiding from the men, then suddenly breaking off and introducing us.
\"As for why we\'re here...\" he trails off and looks at me.
\"We were just passing through,\" I say. *Dobehan?* I repeat silently to myself. The name doesn\'t ring a bell...
-
(occ: Yep I dont remember either thats what I ment by the truth, you see? By the way sorry if I said to much to the woman :( )
Kroan looks back to Eloion \"Yes thats right we were just passing through, in fact we dident even know this place existed befor we got here\"
-
6 lenric
ooc: well, it\'s your choice...
The man responds to your greeting with a fearsome yell, and he leaps forward, striking his sword with tremendous strength. You can just duck away from the attack, and you turn around eachother for an opening. Then the man leaps forward to you once again, quickly shifting his sword to his other hand while doing so. This destracts you, and as you avoid him you feel a burning pain in your left shoulder. As you look down you see your shoulder is bleeding. You make a quick faint and place a dust of pepper in the mans eyes. He screams with pain from this unexpected movement, and for a moment he drops his defences. Just as you want to finish him you feel a sharp bash on the back of your head, and as you fall to your knees you can make out another black armored man in a blurred vision. Then everything goes black.
ooc: have a little patience for the other players actions. some events depend on their actions.

Eloion walks over to the front-shutters and peeks through a crack. \"they\'re gone.\" she says, \"but they took another victim\". she walks over to the chest and starts seeking through it\'s contents. \"just traveling through... I\'ve heard that before. It\'s a rather complicated story... and I\'ll tell you.\" she stops searching through the chest, and she gets a bread out. She closes the chest and walks over to the ladder. \"come down. you must be hungry\" You follow her to the base floor. Eloion puts the bread on the table and closes the front door, which the two visitors must have left open. The three of you sit down at the table, and Eloion starts cutting the bread. She slowly cuts thick slices from the bread, and then hands them to you. \" it was many years ago...\" she starts, and to you notice a sad undertone in her voice. \"Dobehan was a lovely place, and we all lived in harmony. The azure sun provided us with all the energy and food sources we could ever need. Then there was the first year of terror. The crops didn\'t want to grow, and the sky went dark, withholding us from the energy of the azure sun. None of us knew what it was that caused this disaster, untill the shadowriders came. they enslaved people of Dobehan, an none has seen them ever again alive\" she stops, and you see a tear running down her cheek \"I... I can\'t tell you abou this... I lost too many people I loved in those days... NO. I have to tell you. you have something...\" she looks up into your eyes. then she continuous: \"They settled two of their henchmen in Tavern \"the flaming troll\" to keep watch on the village. every now and again a stranger falls into the hands of the keepers... all villagers that are left are terrified, we don\'t dare leaving our houses in fear of getting captured by the shadow riders. The farmer you were talking too, Unio is his name, has finally been struck by the dark force that seems to control the shadow riders. but there\'s another one that has fallen victim to the dark hand. I saw a stranger like you entering the tavern some minutes before you wanted to enter it (looking at kerrick). If we don\'t do anything both Unio and the stanger will suffer a terrible fate...\" she stops. and as if she asks for your help, she lookes into your eyes.

behind the tavern is an inner court of about 10x10 meter. In the middle of the court is an old apple-tree, but there\'s no leaves on it. as you land you see two men fighting. One of them has a black steel helmet, and a rough beard covers the lower half of his face. A black cape is draped over his shoulders, and under it you can make out black chainmail. He is wielding a black steel sword, and just seems to get struck by a powder that the other man throwed at him. You see the second man charging at the man-in-black, but just at that moment you notice another man in the same black armor as the first one coming up from behind and striking him down viciously with a black mace. Then this 3rd man turns towards you, and as you look into his eyes you see these are bloodred. the second man groans and struggles to his feet, and turns around towards you. then they both charge at you.
-
I ready myself, holding my Takenai blade forward and standing in a battle stance. As my feet sink into the muddy ground a feeling of chill comes over me, and It dawns upon me... I may not survive this fight...
-
and as they leap towards you, their blades pointed towards you, your mind goes black...
You find yourself lying on on your back on a cold stone floor. As you open your eyes, you notice that you still can\'t see anything. Total darkness surrounds you. You wonder if this is hell... but no, a sharp pain in your right flank reminds you this is neither a dream or hell... but where are you then? ? Slowly you begin to remember some of the things that happened... you don\'t have anything on you, and you wonder if the dark warriors took all your possesions. Then you hear something groaning to your right...

Clasping the back of my head gently while leaning heavily upon the slick wall.I attempt to discern the damage done without sticking my hand into any spot to tender on the back of my head as I reel from the different sensations coursing my being while trying to maintain conciousness and get my bearings without making any sudden movements.Groaning slightly in pain while thinking of how much i would love to wring the neck of the man who hit at the same time wondering aloud \"Why Me? then I pause and check my wound from the graze from the longsword to make sure everything is in working order.
-
\"I\'m willing to help,\" I say slowly. Maybe these \"shadow riders\" knew something of how and why had come to be here without my memory...
-
After telling here story Eloion looks pleadingly into Arins eyes. Slowly Arin responds \"I\'m willing to help\". Kroan can understand his reluctance the shadow riders seem a fearsome force. Then Eloion looks into Kroans eyes in that silent plea. Unlike Arin there is no hesitation in his response, he has no choice but to honour the vow he made many months ago, he smiles \"I shall do all that is within my power to help you and your village\".
-
Slowly opening my eyes, I glance around the alley furtively making sure that I am alone. The explosive pain in my head making my sight a little blurry. Seeing no one around I open my violet eyes fully, waiting for the pain to subside and my eyesight to clear.
Pulling myself to my feet, I notice a water barrel at the end of the alley an stumble toward it on shakey legs. Looking into the cool water of the barrel, I notice a trickle of blood running through my dirty blond hair and over my pointed ears.
I dunk my head into the cool water to wash away the blood from my head running my slender, yet strong hands through my fine hair. As I look down the main road though this quiet village, I notice a farmer steering an ox-cart though the muddy street. Checking to make sure my father\'s Demorian longblade is still strapped to my side and loose in it\'s sheath, I call out to the farmer in the street.
\"Old man, what town be this?\"
-
and everything is. you slowly walk forward, scanning the wall with your hands and the floor with one foot. The walls feel slimy, and the floor is unevenen and scattered with crisping things. Around your feet you hear some tripping of tiny paws, and you don\'t want to know what these are...Then your hand feel a different material, and you try to make out what it is. It feels like a wooden door... indeed, it is a wooden door, you can feel the hinge. just as you want to try open the door you hear a trembling voice ask \"who\'s there?\" from behind you.
-
you just get the the idea it might be some monster ready to eat you alive, but then you hear someone muttering to himself \"why me...\", and then you hear some moaning and someone scuffeling. \"who\'s there?\" you ask into the balck, and you hear your voice trembling. at the same moment you feel something sliding over your right leg...
-
\" I did not expect anything else...\" Eloion says, and she looks into your eyes. \"we must go quick, and linger no longer.\" She stands up and walks to a cupboard in the other end of the room. \"this might be useful\" she says, and she gets out three black mantles. \"Put this on, we won\'t be recognised in this.\" she says, and she puts one of the mantles on. You follow her example. She walks to the front door,a nd peeks out quickly. \"follow me\" she says. You follow her outside, and as you run through the muddy street you have the feeling you\'re being watched. Eloion turns into an ally, and into another one. You keep running through the small allies and past closed shutters, you don\'t see no living being. Then Eloion stops in front of a door, which looks no different from others. She gives a roffle on it. from behind the door you hear a voice speaking in a strange language, though other than the one you heard the two men in Eloions house speaking. Eloion answers the voice, and the door opens. You all walk inside, and behind you you hear the door closing. The room is dimly lit, and on all sides you see working benches and cupboards. In another room adjacent to the one you\'re in you see barrels stacked up. This seems to be some sort of distribution centre... An old man walks past you and walks into the adjacent room. \"come Eloion,\" he says\" I have to speak to you. Eloion turns towards you \" please wait here, i have to talk with Gheron. I\'ll be back soon...
After some time the two return. Eoion speaks: \"We made up a plan to get us into the dark area, although we don\'t have a clue what to find there... Today a servant of the shadow riders will come and earn the taxes. The servant never says a word, and never checks the barrels in which the taxes are stored. We had this plan for a long time, but we didn\'t have enough brave men to risk something like this. Now we have to be quick though, else the stranger will be...\" she stops, and looks towards Gheron. Gheron nods. Eloion truns towards you. \"Gheron will stay here, but his son Hunian will come with us. We will hide in the barrels, and the servant will take them. what comes next... only laanx and Talad know what comes next... We have to hurry, the servant can be here in any moment now.\"
You haste towards the adjacent room. There you notice two large doors, and a little patio. Gheron walks towards some large barrels that are stacked up in the corner and opens them. \"Get in quick\", he says, and you climb into the barrel. Before he closes down the lid he wishes you luck. Outside the barrel you hear Eloion Gheron, and another man talking in the starnge language. Then you hear two more barrels opening and closing. Gheron warns you, and flips over the barrel. Then he slowly rolls it forward.
Kerrick: you notice a small hole in your barrel, through which you are able to look. You don\'t see much now, because it\'s turned towards some other barrels.
You wait for a long time, but finally you hear Gheron whispering: \"he\'s coming!, be quiet!\" Then you hear a terrifying voice speaking. You can\'t make out the words, but you can hear Gheron answering with a trembling voice. \"righ away master... it will... be done right away master\" You hear the large doors open and someone coming. The barrels are rolled again, and upto a slope.
Kroan: you stomach doesn\'t feel so good with all the turning...
After some time you hear a sissing voice, and it seems like you\'re on a moving cart... You\'re on your way! where will fate take you this time?
-
ooc: who says he\'s an old man?
The man on the cart has a endless stare. he neither looks at you, nor talks to you... You\'re in the way of his heavily loaded cart, but he doesn\'t seem to be going to stop. You step out of the way of the ox cart. As it drives past you, you hear a grunt from one of the barrels on the cart, and you get the feeling something fishy is going on here... The barrels are covered with a tarpaulin, and you notice a part of it hanging loose.
-
As the feeling goes down Flegran\'s leg, his reflexes get the better of him. Flegram smoothly jumps from the ground, toward the thing which had touched him, and falls once again.... His already wounded leg can no longer hold him up.
Flegran screems in pain, hoping that someone can help him before he dies in this darkness.
-
It takes me a few minutes to recover from rattling around in the barrel and regain my bearings. The barrel is already getting stuffy and hot; I hope the wagon ride doesn\'t last long.
I put my eye to the hole to see if I can see anything...
-
Torn between the hungry growling of my stomach and an overwhelming Demorian cuiosity and desire to investigate all things out of place, I quickly glance back at The Flaming Troll before my curiosity gets the better of me.
Drawing my father\'s Longblade, I silently approach the ox-cart from the rear and ever so gently slip under the loose portion of the tarpaulin. As my heart races with adrenaline, I quietly work my way between the barrels and lay as still and quiet as possible on an old ox-cart, ready for anything that might happen.
-
Gasping shortly in startlement at the voice, Lenric turns covering his head with his left arm.
He mutters\" Who am I who are ye?\" he then firmly says, noting that the sound came from within \"I be a man that is not easily crossed as the fellows who jumped me and threw my carcess within this darkened slime rodent infested crawl space shall find out.
\"One of those oafs blindsided me as I was making my way from the privy trying to get past another fellow.\"
Who be ye? I say again, dost ye know who these fellows be and what reasons they have detaining me. I will be slave to No man.\"
Lenric leans back agaisnt the wall waiting for a response.
-
(occ: Sorry for the slow response it would not let me sign in again X( )
Kroan clenches his hands tight as he is buffeted about in the cramped confines of his barrel. He has never liked confined spaces and that combined with the rolling and bumping is making him feel decidedly queasy. \"Please by the light let me out of here soon\" he mumbles under his breath.
Kroans wonders how Arin is holding up with all the bouncing. He grins \"most probably better than me\" a sudden jolt to his barrel turns the grin into a grimace. Suddenly Kroan becomes conscious of a quiet scuffling noise near his barrel.
