Hi. Since loading the game my computer will not come out of standby and I have to reboot all the time which is annoying. Any ideas. Thanks.

Um... nothing we could really do to cause that. I wouldn't put the computer in standby with a client running. (check to make sure there's no stalled ones) I hate standby by the way. Hibernate is far more usefull. ;)

Hi. What do you mean when you said 'make sure there are no installes ones' I always exit the game before the computer goes into standby. When i exit the game I always get a run time error - thought that may be causing the problem.
Another point you made is that you prefer hibernation - why?
On you keyboard why are you suggesting to press those certain keys.
Thanks.
PS By the way I am enjoying the game but it takes a while and a few tries to get into it.

It's his sig, not part of his message :p

I said "check to make sure there's no stalled ones", meaning open your taskmanager and make sure there's no stalled psclients in there that didn't fully exit, and kill them if there are. (on WinXP, do ctrl+shift+esc, goto processes, find any psclient.exe ones and click them then "end process" button)
The standby/hibernation thing was just a personal sidenote. Standby still uses power, so it's not really that usefull. I prefer to use hibernate instead, for when I close my laptop. It takes a little bit longer to load back up from, but it's completely off. Just my opinion; if you're constantly opening/closing the thing, then standby might be better for you.
The keyboard is my sig... just a little sarcastic stab at idots who type large blobs of text and expect us to be able to read them...

You being sarcastic - shame on you lol
Thanks for your help.

I'm never not being sarcastic. :)
Try checking the taskmanager. That's the only way we could affect this sort of thing. It's also quite possible it's just a coincidence, and has nothing to do with us.

If you are getting a run-time error when shutting down the game (or whenever) then PS WILL still be running. Follow the directions Dave gave you on how to close it (Ctrl+Alt+Del, Processes, "psclient.exe", right click, "End Process")
Im not even sure if PS is actually causing your whole stand-by problem, but if you added nothing other to your computer, you may as well try it.
Good luck! :)

That's not true; you can get that error and no stall.

 When I exit the game and get runtime error I do what you said and it works - thanks.

Oh really? Im not sure if I ever noticed that. Maybe its just my computer then, but I usually always have to end the game (process) myself if I really want to quit fully.
Sorry for wrong info, but at least it did help a little!
