Read the news before posting ;)

game isnt on the server anymore because of a server change. And because the next release is soon, the new server is made ready for the newest release..

Tomorrow? Are you serious, Link, or are you just once again pulling the collective leg of all Planeshift forum members?

Note that Link is not a dev and anyone listening to him about release dates or anything else is wasting their time.

We are currently doing the in-team testing to work out the last problems.  So hopefully a public release will be shortly after.

Don\'t even dare?

If you want to demand a release date, go play a commercial game. And please go to school before you come here, or atleast use spell check.

They just don\'t want you to know the real problem which i unmasked and explained in this post:

http://www.planeshift3d.com/forum/action.php?action=getlastmain&boardid=1

They just gotta fix the server and make the containing room a bit more secure :)

Hey everyone,
I\'m new to this board and game as you probably can tell. Found this site at random and thought it looked an amazing game, downloaded the 1.004 client and to my horror the server was down (I\'ll read the news first next time lol). My questions to any gamers out there: When the next client comes out will you have to download the 35 mb again or just an update? I know this game is in early development (I like those cause nobody gets a head start on me) but do your characters get saved from one release to the next? I so badly want to play this game even if it is only a test version anyone know some approximate date for the new client release? The news is a bit outdated (I think last post was the 4th???). Thanks for any help anyone can give

Crimson
(Yep i\'m a boy)

No, no one knows when the next update will be. No, your characters will not be saved since you don\'t have any skills or items to worry about.

AHHH not again, the updates still not out! Dont get me wrong im not forcing a date on neone because I know that this is in your own spare time and its freeware (which rocks :D:D) but can someone give me some sign that your all still alive out there? The last news update was on the 4th of Feb.....

This is the first time ive joined a guild before even playing the game lol

you know, if you would check these forums frequently you would know that everybody is still very alive here.
Just check the \"MB Diary\" thread if you want the latest update.

I have a linux server and win32 client running off of the latest CVS build.  If there\'s interest I could package the client so people can get their \"fix\" of PS.  :)

Very impressive for an open-source project.  Kudos to the team.

Um.. Link I don\'t think you understand.  I\'ll refrain from flaming you for idiocy.

Flame me dumbass...

I\'m not going to get into that with you.  But do explain your logic behind suing me for compiling and contributing to an open source project.

The artwork, and all the content (Maps, models, all that) is not open source, and most of it isn\'t on the CVS, so unless you redrew all that by hand, your not running a server.

Pyro,
I also have compiled the code, although I am just doing it on windows for now. I have not yet compiled the server on linux. I think I remember something in the license about not offering your planeshift server as a public service unless you are an official ps server. You can sign up for that on the home page. I may be wrong, though.

Are you using roads38.zip from the last release?

The new server and client release is out. You can grab the Client from the Planeshift Project page at Sourceforge http://www.sf.net/projects/planeshift.

As for the server there is currently one running :
planeshift.fragnetics.com

BTW I\'m one of the administrators hosting this new Asian server. Although I\'m not part of the Planeshift development team I hope that we would be able to get a more involved in the community as the project develops.

It seems though there are several kinks the developers are working out. The server has been up and down in the past few hours, and I\'ve had issues running Planeshift using Windows 2000. Win98 allowed me to get in though...

Chris I think the fact that you got in with one OS and not the other is actually just chance.  Please try Win2k again now that we\'ve fixed a couple glaring problems.

Thanks for everyone\'s patience...  That\'s why we do these interim releases. :-)
