Lol, sure thing bud.
I think this one is better than the last one, I also put more time into this one.

From what I've downloaded so far it seems very strange :s. Finished downloading and I don't really like it, its just strange and just running about in the same area half the time.

Most duels, are running about, and they conducted the duels in the same area, because it was the best place to conduct them in the DR.
If you died, you could easily come back, and there was plenty of room to run.
I'm sure you've seen these duels before in the Dr right? They're not abnormal or strange.
I'm sorry you didn't like it, but i respect your opinion, and i will try to make it better next time.
Help me by telling what you didn't like, so i may make it better next time.
Thanks for downloading it, i hope you got the 40 meg one, and thanks for your time.

 boring.

The worst PS movie ever xD
Maybe i will be wrong, but it presents most of what PS stands against.
But there is one reason to watch it.
The nonsense of current PC vs PC fights. One of the worst things made in PS.
There is a reason why in other games you don't kill with one hit ;) and here you have its consequence.

Uwe Ball reincarnated?
The roleplayer inside me screams, trying to beat up the powerlevellers within going "omg!". I am with the roleplayer, and as this game is not intent for what you're doing in this movie, a whole lot of slaughter.
It's a good movie for games like WoW, but people, in this game, expect something else.
-
Datruth, you obviously put many hours into this movie.
Well done.

what software do you use? Is there any free software that won't bog make my 516 RAM comp go really slowly when recording and not put a watermark on it?
-
You may be hard pressed to find an application that meets all of those requirements, Fayodin. I don't think it is possible to find a movie recorder which would not lag a system with such a small amount of RAM. Lots of power is typically required to both render your game at a normal FPS, and record 25/30 frames of it each second. The fastest movie recorder I know of would be FRAPS, but it is demoware and will place a watermark in the corner of your movies unless you register it.
-
I can see you've put a lot into this video... but you might want to put something different in it... it get's kinda monotone if you know what i mean with seeing people getting killed all the time
-
Didn't bother DLing it with all those replies, but you obviously aren't getting what PS is about.
-
I hate to say this, and i didn't want to, but I feel hurt by those comments.
It's surprising what 3 comments can do to a person.
2 were just blatanly hurtfull.
I'm sorry if this game is what you want it to be, ONLY RP, but i didn't design it.
There is a Player v.s Player aspect, just as there is in ANY world.
You will always have power struggles and you will always need a way to break the struggle, in the past it was wars, and Talad has implemented that.
You cannot have us all wielding Swords and Not have us Attack each other.
I thank those who understood the time it took to make this movie.
I worked Really hard on it and I took Me days just to do certain sequences.
I used Fraps, The Retail version, the one you buy, And windows Movie Maker.
Video editing takes alot of space , time, and ram.
Those videos were edited down, i started off with 25 Gigs of Video footage, and i put before you the 40 meg file you see.
Thank you SOO MUCH for those who understood the amount of work it took and Appreciated it.
You are why i made this movie, and Your comments touched me.
My next movie is in the works.
And thanks again for those who supported me, i will keep bringing you my best work.

Well I watched this movie and found it was missing alot and that I actually had to make myself finish watching it in order to be able to give my point of view on your project. Sure you are capturing a duel but it would be nice if you could capture it in different angles, places and characters.
- For example, after the dwarf was killed the first time maybe at the point the movie could flash to another part of the world in Yliakum and have that dwarf die, then continue to follow the victor of the duels, this way you have variety and it doesn't become boring to watch. Fade in and out of scene's, and maybe add some text with words that appeal to the scene.
- Choice of music is also important as you have to remember you are representing a world that has really no technology. I am not saying that you can't use music from now days but if you do be sure it goes wth the theme you are trying to accomplish. Techno just didn't give me the "You are watching a duel" feeling. It gave me the feel that the dwarves were trying to out dance each other and then the one decides to lose his temper and slits the others throat.
- Chat box should not be seen in my opinion. It makes the video look messy.
Over all nice try and good effort. Please don't take my critisim as a personal attack, it is only meant to help you see what an outsider see's. Though others in this thread could have been more helpful, I am sure they all saw what I did, and they are being completely honest with you. Maybe even a little to blunt, but do not let it discourage you. If you practice and try different things in your movies, eventually you will develop the skills and your movie will become more entertaining and satisfactory.

See, zorbels was giving what i call CONSTRUCTIVE critisism.
It's not like just saying, it's bad, it sux, i hate duels....
That's just ignorant and wastes people time.
Zorbels actually gave me tools to make my videos better next time and I thank you zorbels.
The only thing i would have to say is, I can't get different angles, i'm one person shooting a duel and for me to get different angles i'd have to have different people filming the same duel.
That's just not possible.
Even if i had someone else using Fraps or another program, filming the duel, They'd still have to send me That video, and each video is about 1 gig in size, depending on length.
So Different angles just can't happen, unless i get someone with REALLY fast internet, like T1, and i myself have T1, and we then can transfer video files to one another.
But i agree with you, if i could capture the duel in different angles, the Videos would be ALOT better.
I guess i can get rid of Chat box next time, i start filming.
It's just When you're doing a vid, you need to talk to people about when the duel occurs, where it occurs, and who wins.
I used the chat box at the beginning of the video wrongly, but at the end, I had it set to system, and it showed how much damage each person did as well as how many times they tried to attack but missed.
I loved the choice of music, and i thought it was appropriate for the flow of action.
To get a better understanding of what you wanted, Could you please give me some songs that would have gone great in this video?
I really don't know what kind of music would have been better, so i'd like your opinion regarding that.
Also, there was a slight discrepency in your Quote, you mentioned Fading in and out of scenes.
I've clearly had Scene transitions, and Some of them were fade.
But yes, i did fade in and out of some scenes, and i also used different Scene transition, such as Blur, and Turnaround, Wiper, etc.
If more people could comment like Zorbles, I could have more help making nicer Movies.
I thank you for your comments zorbles, and i hope others follow in your footsteps.
Don't forget to reply with some choices of music that would have been better for the vid.

I watched it as well. I think there needs to be some set-up. Maybe you show a role played chat that leads to a duel.
I was also confused watching the duel because the Dwarf would stay standing upon death (not your problem, but a feature not yet implemented in PS yet).

It's not like i'm blaiming your way, i'm not. It's just that there are other ways of casting.
What I would like is a little more variation. A little bit of a story, some depth, and a little bit of that, meaning better casting(but that'll improve over time). Right now you don't get much good critique because you have a lot to improve, obviously. Just don't expect red roses every time you make a movie, be prepared for the worst.
Have some selfdistance learning is like an online game. Every time the game gets all it's bugs fixed you implement a whole new feature (learn a skill) and it goes "Boom!" and all kinds of new bugs show up(things to be improved ::)) It's just to hang in there and never lose your motivation.
"Here are some tips"
A "good" movie needs
-A story(try writing it on paper first)
-Casting(where and how will the cameras act, things to remember...)
-A timeline(Depends on the story)
-Events(Action! Romance...)
-Character(Head person, Enemies, Friends...)
-Special Effects(always handy)
The main purpose of the story is to have something people relate to. A good movie makes you numb, pulls you in.
As you might've seen we don't always give bad critique to all film-apprentices, perhaps there is something you've missed. Learn from others to improve yourself, arrogance is never a good starting ground. Been there, done that. ;]
My advice, amongst all gibberish, is to take all critique with a pinch of salt. Expect the worst and you, at least, wont be sadly suprised :]

Just a tip for the Soundtrack you could use:
Carl Orff - O Fortuna
It's classical music and has a quite dark aura, especially the middle part would match a duel very well.
If you prefer something more modern you could crawl through some old Nightwish tracks - some of 'em would fit into the topic too.
There are tons of bands that mix medieval music with modern Rock/Metal/Whatever. Just a two examples: In Extremo, Saltation Mortis.
Hope that helps.

I'm sorry for the inconvience everyone, The server my files are hosted on is having a problem.
I'll have it fixed soon.
Then those who didn't get a chance to download can.
If you can't download the movie today, try again tommorow, the problem is Filefront's fault and they told me their trying to fix it.
