hey!
okay, I know....not really an issue with the game but I\'ll try anyway and hope you\'ll be nice enough to answer me =)
I\'m curious what kind of tools you used to make the city buildings and stuff....they\'re awesome! and the terrain aswell...I\'d really love to know what you used with the CS engine.
cheers!

I\'m almost positive they made their own tools. When most people are serious about making a game they make their own tools to customize them to the needs of the game.

that, my friend is my fear and also my biggest respect.

I don\'t know for sure, but most CS projects I\'ve seen use WorldCraft for their level editing and then convert it over to the CS native format. I *think* most character modeling is in Maya as the maya2cs util is also distributed in the PS sourceforge/CVS code.
-
Yeap. Most of the modeling is done in Maya and a little 3DSMax in there as well.
The maya2cs has been moved out our our CVS tree and into the CrystalSpace tree under the name of maya2spr.

do you use maya for everything?
or do you use hammer or quark for interiors?
-
bumpedy bump =)
and I had another question. how did you work the terrain and the getting objects aligned nicely in it?
-
The world was built in 3ds max and the players were made in maya.
-
What? I thought you used Maya for the terrain, and the players were made with 3ds max ?(
Isn\'t maya better for terrain, or am I mistaken?
-
To clarify a bit, all the world modeling has been done/redone in Maya, with Max used only as finalization and export platform to CS; the character modeling has been done only partly in Maya. The whole characters animation process has been completed in Maya.
Maya recognized to be better than Max in almost every field; the only area where MAX excells is the plugins availability. But I don\'t want to start a fight over this question here ;)

thanks a bunch guys. I appreciate it! =)
