Title: crafting weapons
Post by: sangrouge on August 11, 2006, 05:00:06 pm
in order to increase RP and to make weapon makers proud of their work, it should be a good idea to keep the name of the manufacturer, in the name of the weapon (i.e : "getrok's short sword") or by adding a field "manufacturer" in weapon description.
looted weapon can leave the manufacturer name empty.

What do you think about that ?

A good idea, but not very original.

There is already a 'crafter' field in the item description for exactly this purpose.

Wish already granted.  ;D

Does the crafter name not show up anywhere right now?  How can a player determine who made his weapon today?

Drag the item up to an eye icon or right click it to examine.   The crafter name and guild they belonged to at the time it was crafted is in the description window.

Now, if only we had guild crests ...

TomT:  I see the crafter name in the description, but I don't see guild name anywhere.   ???

That is sad, I just assumed it was not on the items I created because I was not in a guild.  I'll take a look at that when I can.  Thanks Einnol.

@TomT:  You're welcome.  Thanks for the quick response and hard work.  That will be nice when it works.

*Edit:  I am not sure if this has been reported already or not, but since it is found in the same description window, I'll mention it.  The quality shown on the description window seems to have a maximum of 50 regardless of the quality of the finished weapon (ie. Quality: 145/50).
