Hey, you are very welcome to show your stuff and implement these features right now. I\'m sure we will get to all that stuff but we need to build the foundations before you stick the roof on.
Many people are doing a lot of work and this stuff takes time when it is all volunteers. Maybe if you threw a few dollars our way we could see about speeding things up. :)

Be patient, like everyone else
-
hmm yea....Very patient ;)

Im getting the nagging suspicion that these people or person is trolling the boards in a number of disguises. 3-5 posts like this in the last week and a bit, when before there where none...
smells like a dead krylos to me.
-
It\'s either binary or chubbs. You can tell by the excessive crappy typing, and stupid questions.
-
I 4 one think its really cool that these people who made this game is even letting ppl play it b4 it total rdy. i think that was a smart move. its either that or wait 2 years b4 u can even log on. thnx guys. :D

Who do we all know that is annoying and lives in Australia? That is where the poster is from.

The Crocodile Hunter?
sorry, couldn\'t resist :P

Seems like a few MMORPG sites are giving this \"game\" good reviews...That my be fueling these newbies that dont read about the Alpha stages with their \"Anger\"
Could just be a lonely soul looking to stir trouble
-
Yep. Also, in my experience very, very, very few people actually read (anything, let alone instructions or FAQs). This might be causing some of the trouble:
http://www.betawatcher.com/Open.asp?title=Planeshift
They\'re pretty popular in the gaming crowd, and they have Planeshift listed as \"Open Beta\" - you guys might want to email them and correct that :)
MMORPG.com has it listed as well, another very popular site:

Nevermind the mindeless. I used to work in the gamming industry in localisation of products and played the first version of Meridian 59. This Planeshift has future. I\'ll keep on logging in.
Sorry if I have no programing skills and I can\'t help, but I\'ll be very pleased to give hints on the interface.
Keep on the good work.

Well I deffinately like it so far! I can barely move or anything but who cares! The graphics alone is enough to win me over :D This is really going to be free when its done? Or are you guys just looking for lots of alpha-testers ;) I probably won\'t log in anymore (it took half an hour) but I\'ll be lurking around and learning everything I can about this game :)
-
I personally think that in the area of instant gratification people have forgotten the whole idea of waiting and patience.
mostly those who flame about \"this game sucks\" or \" I cant do anything\" really dont understand how lucky they really are. How many of us want to be the input for a game before it comes out ? really? if AO or EQ had pre alpha testing, then there wouldn\'t have been the whole, \"I hate this aspect of the game...who the h#ll designed it?!!\"
and for those of us who want to change the future of gaming, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I also find the whole concept novel! play at embryonic stages!! I cant wait to see how our input will assist their choices for what happens in this game!! :D
but anyhoo....
the crocodile hunter????

nope, this is just a open project - you get to use it in all stages of its developement, you can follow all its upgrades in person and live 8) ...also PS will never be commercial, so there\'s no need for alpha testers ...this will just keep on evolving (for ever let\'s hope!!!) and you can join in or leave whenever you want (for free, if you haven\'t read the pages)
-
I\'m amazed they arent going to put this as commercial...if they did I could see it becoming pretty popular with just the right touches to it(of course it needs to be finished first)...but also it seems better off not being commercial because it doesnt seem the type of game you would find in a store...just my opinion though...looks fun to me :)

Ah well if Planeshift really gets going it could give paid MMORPGs a run for their money. This kind of development ensures that such games only get better - Look at how Microsoft is having such a tough time breaking into the server market where stuff like Linux and Apache feature prominently in. Competition is good :D

Very good example, just look at Apache\'s market share: 62.57%. Free doesn\'t mean inferior. Apache proves that if done properly something can be very good, popular and free at the same time. From what I can tell, PS has the looks of being done properly as well.
