Here's how to install it:
0) Reboot
1) Install 0.3.015 package (install clean; read below for further explanations)
2) Patch to 0.3.015b (extract that zip into your PlaneShift folder)
3) Run the updater to get a few art fixes and some new load screens
pk this is the install guide i have been reading ! i have had to install and uninstall the game meny times since last night i have downloaded the patch but have no idea how to apply it to the game can some one please help me!

Hiya!
You have to open the patch.zip with an application like Winzip, Winrar, or IZarc (http://www.izarc.org/) (freeware). If you read further down in that thread, you will see more instructions:
With a ZIP program fully installed, move the ZIP into the destination folder, right click on it, and choose "extract here". It will then uncompress its contents and copy them to the current folder. If you're doing this to patch the game, say "yes to all" when it asks to overwrite files, seeing as the whole point here is to replace your old files with new ones.

Do you have any of those utilities, arcain92? Winzip, Winrar, or IZarc? Check your Program Files. Tell me which one you have installed (or if you don't have any, download the free IZarc from the link I gave above) and we'll go step by step from there.

i have a winzip thing but only the evaluation version..will that work?

I would suggest that you just download IZarc and use it instead of Winzip. It's completely free and is generally better. So if you can do that, let me show you what the next steps would be.
Download the patch.zip, and save it to your PlaneShift directory. Mine for example is D:\Games\PlaneShift Crystal Blue, but the default (if you don't change it during installation) is C:\Program Files\PlaneShift Crystal Blue. So here's the downloaded patch:

Right-click on it, and choose the following:

You will get a prompt asking if you want to overwrite your older files, and make sure that you overwrite them all:

IZarc will show you progress of the file transfer:

And after it is finished, just run the game updater:

k i saved it into the file..how do ig et to where the first pic is?

Where did you save it? :} When you download any file, you should get a prompt asking you if you want to open it there and then, or save it to a specific location. It's generally easier to just save it in the PlaneShift folder from the start.
If you have it saved somewhere else already, just open the place where you saved it, right-click on the patch and choose "Cut," then open your PlaneShift folder (go to "My Computer," then "Local Disk (C:)", then "Program Files", then "PlaneShift Crystal Blue"), right-click anywhere inside it and click "Paste".
If you don't remember where you saved it, use the Windows "Search" feature (Start --> Search) and look for "015patch.zip".

umm when i clicked on the link it said save or run i clicked save

Do you know where your downloads are saved automatically? Check your browser preferences sometime just so you know for the future. For now, just use the Windows Search as I suggested to look for the file.

i searched for exactly what u typed and i got nothing

if you use windows and firefox as browser it saves it on ya desktop.

Make sure you don't use the " " marks when you search. If you did, try that again. What browser are you using? Internet Explorer, Firefox, or something else?

Even with IE I get a prompt asking me where to save the file :} Can you try again?

Or if you can open it, that will work too. In that case you will have to select all the files inside in the window that will come up, and drag them into your PlaneShift folder. "Yes" on overwrite as before.

ok im at the save page..i save it to?...the file that u showed me a few posts back?

Save it to C:\Program Files\PlaneShift Crystal Bue. So like this:

And from that last one scroll over until you see the "PlaneShift Crystal Blue" folder - double-click on it to open that folder, and save the file there.

ok..i went to extract all..it says" bad zip header found.continue any way"?...then i go to yes and it says error.creating zip file crystal blue planeshift...all that stuff..what do i do?...it i got it to unzip but my updater is still out fo date and stops working

Can you open the .zip file, select all the files inside, and just drag them into your PS folder?

One last thing before I let someone else come in at this point, as I'm nearly out of ideas. I've repackaged the patch files into a .rar - download it here (http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=123AE09E1D5EDB52) and try one more time.

uggggg!!!..it didnt work :(....my updater version is 1.1.1.1....som ehting like that..is that a problem?

Can you play the game as it is now?
Patching and updating is rather important - otherwise you may miss out on content and some client-side fixes. Neko did have an entire patched and updated PlaneShift available for download somewhere - but it seems to have expired. I'm really not sure what to do from here, sorry (http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/5725/cfrownwi0.gif) Hopefully someone else will stop by the thread and offer something.
