Title: Is my name a role play name?

Okay I’m in game and near the smither and get someone Pm me and say my name is OC with RPing... And said a gm might not like it and delete it.

Is this true? Is my name OC with role playing? I don’t see how it is because it has a meaning behind it and a story.

But then out of no where a gm changed it... why is there a rule for what names we HAVE to have... I mean soulless body sounded okay to me?

I’m not complaining just asking?


If you look at my sig you see part of the story behind my name. And his meant to of been born with out a soul and abandoned by his mum and dad and only known as soulless body... So I don’t get the problem?

"Soulless Body" is not a name. It's a description at best, perhaps a nickname.

How is someone born without a soul in Yliakum? It's not like a kidney ;>

We have to have limits and a place to draw the line. Otherwise we will have a ton of players saying "I was born without a name, so my character calls himself Blue Fighter/Flying Menace/Rocky Killer."

Have your character choose a name for himself - an actual name - and make a petition to get your current name changed to your better choice.

Ill get it changed to Medlarn Alon.
And if you can, can you change my forum name to Medlarn?

All set in-game, but unfortunately only acraig/Talad/Vengeance can change forum names, and they aren't likely to do that, the busy people that they are. If you're not too attached to your 181 posts, you can just make a new account :>

Hmm i spose i can keep this one... i mean the forums have nothing to do with RP in game? So it would not matter would it?

It doesn't matter at all. If people have a different name in the game, they usually just mention it in their signatures.

You could just say your character has a nickname and make sure everyone uses that.

Medlarn Alon is a good name ... I like it! If you want to change the forum name, just delete and remake the account. 'Souless Body' could be a nickname and you could add a short bit to your description to explain why people in your homeland called you that ... although it does not sound like it would be complimentary...

If it is suitable for you ... simply mention your in-game name in your signature, or in your user description (location), that's already fine to recognise you.
