Hi, and welcome to the Planeshift community.

Roleplaying is definitely encouraged ingame. Please check out these useful sticky threads when you have some free time:

Most people who play follow it, some don't get it though, there was actually a petition a while back to remove the RP rule. some people also don't know that's a rule so be nice....  :sweatdrop:

I'm afraid i've only heard about it but my vast mmorpg-interest is always at service ;]

Actually I took the name from a god in ancient Nordic mythology called Baldr(In english Baldur) god of valour and friendship...*becomes all sentimental*

Welcome to our domains, friend :]

That was then! This is now. I've noticed people have been gotten after for talking OOC. If you HAVE to, most put their OOC in brackets. Constant OOC chat in game annoys me[/u]!!!!

Hrm. Glad you're into RPing! Hope to see you around in Yliakum.

Hey FoodThing, welcome to Planeshift. \\o//

1. Did you die? Then you are in the death realm, which is supposed to be dark. Ask a fellow dead soul to lead you out. If you really can't see anything in the death realm, i think many people had this issue, try to search for "fullbright". To your "orientation problem": there are no maps ingame, this is intentionally. The easiest way to get started is to ask another player "hey, I am new to the city, can you tell me where ...." (I recommend the sewers in hydlaa, you can start there by hunting rats)
2. The NPC talking system has lately been changed http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?topic=25184.0, and most of them don't respond at all, until everything is fixed. The smith Harnquist in Hydlaa is fixed, he talks to you, when you say his name at the beginning or the end of your sentence.

Don't give up, the learning curve is steep, but it's worth it!

Greetings,
pebbles

It's a rule if you are talking about real life things in a public place within the game, like where many people are standing around or if you're by a couple of people who are roleplaying. Roleplay takes the priority, so we shouldn't interrupt it by talking about how weird these commands are or if you saw that game last night on TV. If you're talking to someone but no one else is around, for example in the hills or similar, you're not going to bother anyone so it's okay.

That was a great game. I still haven't finished it. I was almost done but then I got distracted by Morrowind, Oblivion and planeshift.  :( So many games to play and so little time.

Anyway welcome to planeshift and I hope your stay is fun and eventful. I also would like to say I love the name you picked. Very planeshifty.
