Title: Human Male model and maybe other art
Post by: Arangol on September 02, 2006, 07:57:31 am
Here is a human male 3d model I have been working on, it's just for fun and for learning experience (mostly about muscle definitions).
It's still a WIP (work in progress) so don't be too harsh on the finer details. The head is still far from completed.

C & C away.

Perhaps make the legs a bit shorter, you're doing a good job :]

Hmm, they are acurate with my references, and anyways he's is going to be a bit stocky and well muscled.

He's a tad bit short, only 5 heads. May be why it looked fishy.

it's ok for what it is i guess but if you are using it to learn muscle groups and shapes then you mite want to actually add the muscles to the mosel, anatomically it leaves nothing much for reference from, and baldur is right it is too squat, the average human is 7 to 8 heads tall and the fantasy/superhero is 9-10 wth slightly different proportions, i suppose this model might be good for dwarf reference tho ;P

Well I think I can change him to about 6,5 heads so he isn't a dwarf anymore but still short.
Anyone have a good hand or feet tutorial? And any comments or critics on the muscles (arm, leg, chest)?

The chest is ok, just a tad smaller hips. That's what I can come up with so far.

i would add more emphasis to the leg and arm muscles, these are the hardist to learn to draw imo, ty and think of a man with no skin and render the model more like that, it will provide more valuable reference to artists that way, but it may take a lot more work that what you have now. i'd like to see how this develops tho, nice idea.

You found the site where I got my original reference!  ;) Thanks thou.

Thanks RayvenD, Baldur, I'll try to change the hips and the arms are probably the only part where I haven't done anything yet.

Well I'm actually starting another project so I wont be doing much about this guy anymore maybe basic arm/feet/hand tweaks but nothing much. And then I still have the KCP to do something about.
