CRICKEY!
:'( :'( :'(
As you may or may not know:
the very famous Steve Irwin has died today... you may also know him as the croc hunter...
he was tragically killed by a stingray barb...
Are you a fan of his shows?
POST HERE!
:'( :'( :'(
CROCKS RULE!
-
I just heard about him on the news, wasn't too much of a fan, but did watch him from time to time.
-
I just read that right before I came on. Wasn't really fan, but that still must be painful to have a stingray barb through your heart. Didn't dislike him though. Still have one hope though, Jeff Corwin.
-
I am VERY saddened by this... I really am. I heard from my parents right after I woke up, nearly burst into tears. He was a good guy, that is for sure...
-
He was an attrocity to our image... BUT he was a true aussie and a good hearted bloke. He had a passion for life and died doing what he loved. RIP Steve Irwin, all i can say is, CRICKEY, crocs rule! :/
-
Very bad luck..... That is nearly impossible to get killed by a sting ray at the heart.
-
I was also very saddened by this news. He will be missed. He was an important figure in conservation and helped open our eyes to nature and the world with his dangerous work. My thoughts go out to the wife and children he will be leaving behind this sad day.
-
I wasn't a huge fan of his show, but I watched it occasionally and I liked him. No one who likes animals that much can be a bad person. Poor, crazy guy.
-
I heard just after I watched "Rent" and now I'm depressed. :|
But yeah. Haven't heard the whole story yet, only know that poor Steve is gone. I never really watched his shows, but he was cool. Australians ftw!
-
Not totally suprising that it was an animal which killed him. I expected it to be a crocodile though. Still, I feel sorry for his wife and kids.
-
A great shame.... it wasn't even the most dangerous animal he had encountered. Never really saw much of his shows though....
-
it is so sad... :/ But he knew the danger in his work and he died while he did something he loved to do
-
I seriously expected him to go by being killed by a crocodile while saving his kid or something.
-
I'm honestly not surprised that he finally died.
please don't hurt me! :surrender:
-
He was supposed to be Immortal Man. One of those people that you think "Man, he's going to get it someday," but when it happens you're shocked that it actually happened.
My condolences to all the people he left behind.
-
Yes, it is a sad day. :'( He was a great conservationalist and he will be missed. I too am surprised at the way he died. It was an odd and unfortunate accident.
My heart goes out to his wife, kids, and the many people who loved him.
-
Heartbreaking ...he took such a childlike joy in the world around him. He lived more in the few years he had than most ever will.
-
An odd twist of fate – Always thought it would have been death by a croc (Although they were mostly alligators not crocodiles…).
Much respect for his contribution to the environment!
-
Still have one hope though, Jeff Corwin.
yeah... i watched his shows... he is good... but does not have the same ''spunk'' that the croc hunter had....
the worst part is that he was swimming with his daughter doing a kids show at the time... he did not know that he was swimming over the stingray and the show had nothing to do with them... the worst part is that his daughter saw him dying... :'(
there is a programme coming today on animal planet called: in memory of steve irwin its coming at 7pm hong kong time...
he was a man that braught the world to its knees :'( :'( :'(

yeah, this sucks, Irwin was the best. they are thinking about releasing the death footage on the news! :o how would you like it if the video of you dying was played on CNN for the whole world to see. Its all about money.....hmmm.
anyway, go austrailia!

Steve had a love for life and everything in it. His energy and his radiant personality were contagious, anyone around him could'nt stop smiling, and feeling good.
When anyone who has devoted their life to a positive cause dies, the whole world looses a very valuable addition to the human race.
I will not mourne his passing, I will celibrate his life.
Thank you steve

I totall agree Laragorn. Watching Steve Irwin for so many years gave me a deep respect for the somtimes overly enthustiastic man. It was apparant that he truely loved what he did for a living and he died doing what he loved. I can only hope that my life is that fulfilling, though preferably not as tragically short.
A good portion of my high school days was spent on a Steve Irwin inspired project with 3 friends called "Aussie the Folktale Hunter". With terrible terrible accents, Aussie and Lumbar Jack roved our small town in search of local folklore and legends, making an attempt to approach it with the same enthusiam that made the Crocodile Hunter so fun to watch.
Yesterday I wore my Crocodile Hunter T-Shirt to commemorate him. Few have done so much to help protect the environment we are so actively destroying. My shirt will be retired to a shelf now.
Best regards Stevo!

You play with fire you get burnt.
In his case it was a simple ember.... Sting rays dont usually cause death....
I accept that its bad....
But then again, screwing around with crocodile's and variouse other dangerouse animals was tragically demented in its own rite.
I think that its a good thing his corpse is still in one piece....
-
I think that its a bad thing his corpse has a BIG FAT hole through it!
Thats right through his heart!
-
Putting a quote on something another person never said is typically frowned upon.
-
:flowers: May Steve rest in peace and be remembered for all of the hard work he has put into the environment and the knowledge he has provided for youngsters every where about the wild life.
-
Condolences to his family and friends, he will be greatly missed
-
Its very upsetting that he died. He made people look towards animals in a different light.
R.I.P.
On a lighter note!
HE DIDNT DIVE ON ME! ;D
