on the first load page it says something weird then no hardware acceleration... then i get a VERY basic picture of my dwarf when i log into the char selection screen almost cartoonish. i think i might not have a graphics card anymore :( my windows sytem got corrupt and i might need to get a new one. the same thing graphics prob is in another post well it looks like mine........ PLEASE HELP ME
-
“No Hardware Acceleration” usually means you either:
1.) Have very outdated or even nonexistent drivers for your graphics card
2.) Have a very outdated graphics card, or
3.) Have a distinct lack of anything that could be considered a graphics card
Solve this by:
1.) Updating your graphics card drivers from the manufacturer's website
2.) Buy a new graphics card, or
3.) Buy a graphics card :P
Have you tried repairing your Windows install, or, worse comes to worse, reformatting? If you reformat, you'd need to reinstall all your previous drivers, graphics included.

yeh i doubt i have a graphics card i have been playin for a while and it worked fine i had a nvidia one or sumthin now the icon is gone. any chance u could tell me where i can find out my graphics card and check if i still have it. if i dont have one its st8 back to someone to get it :)..... EDIT: is geforce a type of graphics card thingy cos i found a disc with some geforce thing with some computer animated graphics card looking pic on it. also something about albatron.

If you had everything working, but then it suddenly stopped without you touching anything -inside- the computer case, chances are you just have to prod the system a bit :} To find out what's currently up:
- Right-click anywhere on your desktop
- Click on Properties
- Choose the Settings tab
- Look under Display for text similar to "Such-and-such monitor on [ card ]"

my system got corrupted earlier this week and i got it fixed. i lost some stuff. i edited the above post plz respond to that
it says plug and play on NVida geforce FX 5200 i think this is/was my card. but the icon for it is gone.
-
That's a very vague description - can you follow my instructions and post back?
-
did lol and i got the answer to that question. should i install that card again?
-
Try installing the drivers from Nvidia's website.
Go to their driver page (http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp), and in the three boxes there choose: "Graphics Driver," then "GeForce and TNT2," and then your operating system. Download, install, and see what happens.

well i do have the actuall disc to install my graphics card in my computer atm. should i still use the website or just use the disc because atm the only thing sayin i have a graphics card is the thing under display but besides that every thing to do with my grphics card is gooone.....
-
The website always has the newest version, so I would recommend it over a disc.
-
ok ill try it now if it doesnt work shall i use the disc? 40.3MB lol long w8 atm... has Ps updated the requirement for graphics cards in the last hmm lets say 4 days? because i doubt my card "downdated itself" i have a feeling the whole card is corrupted like the est of my computer "used" to be.
-
If it doesn't work for some bizarre reason, yes :]
-
thanks karyuu ill report when its finished and "hopefully" itll work...
Edit: just a query if everything fails should i actually uninstall the card then reinstall from disc.
-
Nothing should fail - but uninstalling is recommended if you wish to install something again.
-
98%, 99% DONE ok installing now fingers crossed :)
*edit*
OK well everything is way bigger than it usually on the forums and im gonna restart now see u on the other side :)
*edit*
THANKS KARYUU all is now fine plus i have a cooler looking icon for my graphics card. wahoo tripple post lol
Double/tripple-posting is against the rules. Please don't do it - just "Modify" your first post to add new information if no one has replied yet.
