I\'m new to communitive storywriting. does everyone in the forum write a story you made up about PlaneShift? (sorry for such a newbish question but i\'m curious)

I think you just start writing something and if people want to add to it, they do.  I also think it\'s supposed to be in the Planeshift Universe, but since what that is isn\'t clear, you can basically do whatever you want.

Is there something like a file or folder with the latest evaluated and \"to-be-realised\" official roleplay story?

To my knowledge, there are no \"official\" stories (beyond histories) about the PS universe.

Several devs have made some short stories and posted them (for example, Kendaro (http://www25.brinkster.com/kendaro/writings.htm)  and myself (http://www.tritek.com/dev/planeshift/ps_story_01.pdf ) ), but they were done before acceptance onto the team and can by no means be called \"official\".

Also, to my knowledge, no \"community\" stories have been saved out of this board\'s scope.  Thus, while they provide a platform for settings ideas from the community, they are not re-posted or incorporated into the game unless someone takes initiative (either a user or a dev).  If you participate in a story that you think is exceptional, copy the segments together, and edit them into a \"real\" story.  Make sure you cite all authors of the work and get their permission before you post or re-distribute the work.

Thanks! - Perhaps I just lack knowledge about what is the purpose of this story writing section and what its relatiion is to the Planeshift online game.

Do you need something like plot & drama writing for the online game, considering NPCs, tasks, missions etc.? Or is everybody just going there to horse around at their own liking?

The purpose of this section of the forum is so people like me can write stories and contribute to other people\'s stories, so I do not turn into a small blob of radioactive banana innards from boredom.

Yeah, sure. It\'s also a way to keep people like me (ie. me) around here until this game is finished. By then I reckon all of us will be old-timers.
