Ok i pretty much and drew something and realised i had weirdly improved since the last time i drew ages ago. I was trying to be origanal but the end one just ended up looking like a dragon even though it wasnt what i was aiming for.

woah real great stuff narure :) hope to see more from you
-
The second picture is really nice >o)
-
I like it, though not my style but it's nice :D
-
Thanks. :sweatdrop: I was expecting a bit more critiscism... Which i would also like some so i know how to improve. And i lost my only rubber!!! :(
To put it bluntly its a furry dinosuar:

Limbs are my sworn enemy
-
i think that the head needs a bit more detail... the arms are missing some elbows and muscles and the legs is missing some detail in muscles and all thoose limbs parts as you said ;)
Else main structure is good :D
-
You need to research a little on structure and such. I'm learning myself that Animals and Humanoids are tottaly different to draw.
I think animals are kinda harder somtimes.
-
I like your work i can see you have some good ideas. :D
It is really worth studying anatomy! Knowing your anatomy makes things a lot easier so find yourself a nice book and do a little bit of reading. ;)
Also note that shading is very important as it gives your picture shape and dimension. Take a look at the following two links for a basic summary of shading:
http://www.learn-to-draw.com/members/drawing-basics/0117.htm
http://www.learn-to-draw.com/members/drawing-basics/0119.htm
Hope that helps. :P
@dying_inside: I actually find people harder than animals. I think this is mostly because animals are streamlined and anatomically make sense where as people are… bulky and very clumsy ::| and that’s how I feel when I draw them too!
-
I second what Kiraki said.
Nothing is more difficult then to draw a humanoid, where an animal would take one hour humanoids can take days. I think it lies in our efforts to make it look like ourselves. I've heard that selfportraits are among the hardest to draw.
-
Hahaha, I could never draw a self portriat.
I think I find animals harder to draw because I have only really just started to explore them, where as I have been drawing humanoids for years. Granted that its only over the past year or so that I have really developed and come a long way. But I havnt had the same experiance with drawing animals like that.

A couple trying out with pastels:

And the bug that Narure uses to comunicate with people
(http://img164.imageshack.us/img164/7312/drawings0021xr7.jpg)
So how are these? A step forward, backwards or just same old?
-
That last picture is awesome, very good.
I don't see any flaws in it, but again i'm not a professional artist.
I'd say you're getting better.
-
Good work with the tiger
-
They are nice....
I cant give much advice myself because I dont really know animal anatomy, or at least how to draw it.
As for butterfly's i dont know what butterflies are supposed to be drawn like either...
But so far I think they are nice.

Just a scrap of paper with an idea on it more than a drawing:
-
:D I like the colours!...
Although... are the wings supposed to be like that? they look like they'ye backwards... perhaps consider the (most popular) skeleton of dragons. they're wings could be viewed as large webbed hands... the thumb would thus be the point farthest forward. and the sort of wave shape at the bottom of the wing would be the skin extending from finger to finger.
Once again, maybe you did this purposefully, but when I saw it, I saw backwards hands or wings... Other than that though, I like it! hah especially the piggish nose! :D
-
erm *cough* yees the quintain (i love making up names) actualy flys backwards *cough*
yes that will make an exelent excuse
Edit:

Ojavedan castle.

Just a scrap of paper with an idea on it more than a drawing:
Things should start this way, ALWAYS! :)
-
Looking forward to see more self proclaimed ink my friend \\o//
-
I like the gate and the perspective with the windows facing the stairs :)
-
Thankoo, i can't decide if i should colour it, shade it, or leave it alone. I swear the pics look better on paper, i think they arent very sacnogenic. Then again the paper i use is about 2 inches larger than A4 so the scanner cuts alot off.
-
Being the sad Planeshift addicted fool I am.
This picture makes me think of the lag monster in the sea of glue.
Anyways, I'm going to go cry myself to sleep now :P

My little hint: find some references, some work similar to what yo u want to achieve... study the solutions applied by those that made it before than you and see what suites better to your needs. If you have a little knowledge about any 3d modeling program, see what a simplified version of your subject looks like with different shaders (a cube with four parellelepipeds at his vertices can simulate the ojavedian castle).
Often the difference between professional and amatorial works, is given by good documentation.

I will get round to your suggestion some time pKrime.

Nice pics Narure.
I like the logo idea for the outlaws. That looks cool.
I <3 the killer squirrel :D

MWUHAHA THANK YOU!!!! you are all to kind
and now for my finished outlaws logo:

Nice! Like the texture on the sack.
-
nice thought the feathers kinda miss their place in the arrow and maybe a litle background would be nice other than that all i could sugest is more drawing but you know that :p
-
Thank ye, yes i know about the feathers, i would have changed it but Elvi wanted somthing more badass, so here it is:

A rose :D :

Hmm, the axe looks cool, shame about the positioning of the render, the head looks to have some nice textures on it, but is kinda hard to tell from that angel.
Nice Rose though.

better? I changed the texture on the handle a little also.
*edit*
(http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/1604/quibascayd7.png)
Quess whos back... Got a name for the little critter now "Quibasca"
-
Much better! A nice looking texture for sure.
Edit: Is the quibasca all one model?
From that angle it looks like the head and wings where made seperatly. I'm just saying because the first time I modeled a creature I made it all seperatly, but then I was advised to make it all from one cube. It took alot of time but it paid off. Actually the original creature looked quite crappy, but i made a few more since then (there was that textured one in my thread) and making it all from one cube has definatly made a differance to the model quality.
Mind you I've never made a creature with wings so i dont how easy they are to make from exrude and still appear like wings. In my limited experiance its the textures that make up all the small bone details :)
Hope that didnt sound too critical, I do like it, just some feindly advice/observations, because i think you could make it better :)
-
Ooooh Me likey, Narure. Sweet job on the axe! Was the drawing wat you wanted?

Yes seperate models. Extruding everything seemed like to much of a pain in the backside because I'm not sure about adding faces exactly where you want them and what not. All I know about blender is from Cherppows thread and my smaking every button to see what it did when the model was annoying me.

Hehe, hitting eveything is a good way to start.
Extruding everything can be pain in the arse, but at the end worth it, that said I dont use blender, apart from trying to get the .dts exporter to work, I dont really like blender at all. and if you want faces in a certain place just merge two together, or bevel a line and create a new one.
-
What other programmes do you recogmend to use? I'm enjoying doing 3D modeling at the moment but I wouldnt like to have to pay for somthing unless its really worth it.
-
I use wings, I like the interface alot more and I just generally find it easier to use than blender. I could probably get head around belnder if i tried, but to be honest I can do what I can do, modeling wise, with Wings. So why bother changing?

More junk:
Fruit 'n' veg

For 3D modelling, I use milkshape. Its so easy for a starter at 3D modelling, the interface is small, and easy to use and learn. You aren't bombarded with buttons, so you can learn the tools quickly.
Also, if you just do a google search for "Milkshape tutorials" there are some good starter tutorials to get you going.

Your self prclaimed "junk" is starting to look a lot better mate :) keep at it :)
