hmm i would like to say that the new chatsystem is kinda annoying =/ i miss the all tab and the chat tab to seperate not to mention the flashing each time... is it a bug that the all tab forgot or something?

I certainly don't like not having a Chat tab anymore.  Forget trying to have a conversation in the arena or any other place like it with the chat only showing up in Main along with System text.  And the blinking gets annoying on the Main tab when you are in another tab with only that tab having any action. 

I used to sit on the system tab when doing things and watch for the chat/guild/auction tab to blink to see when someone is talking.  Now with chat only in the Main tab (and it constantly blinking due to System text) I have missed a few people talking to me.  I probably just need to get out of the habit of leaving it on System I guess :)   

Having to scroll through a lot of system text to see the "chat" stuff still has to be done though.

Yes I agree. I perfered the old chat tab. As you said, I have also missed some people talking to me, and it annoys me when Someone says 1 thing, and 3 tabs flash.

The chat window was intentionally redesigned and modified. The intention is to have the Main tab with everything for your character and move anything else to separate tabs.

Main Everything that is visible and audible to your IG character.
NPC Talking with NPCs.
Tell Private tells.
Guild Guild chat.
Group Group chat.
Auction Auction messages.
System System messages.
Help The help channel.

The Main tab is supposed to show says, shouts, emotes, drops/pickups and base combat messages (start combat, nearly dead, killed). Basically anything that your character in the game would see or hear.

Having guild and group messages on the Main tab was my mistake and I will remove them this weekend. Also I will try to remove that annoying blinking of tabs when the message is already seen on another tab. I apologize for the inconveniences.

Not sure about tells on the Main tab, because they can be used both for IC whispering and OOC tells.

The All tab is not coming back, but in the next version we will most likely have the Main tab configurable so that you can pretty much configure it to be like the All tab was before.

All because we have now NPC's tab. We have exactly the same amount of tabs as before, so no additional coding for devs. Kind of shortcut, but it isn't good.
- I'm not even sure if there are all system messages in the new Main tab. There is no MOTD in it as you load. No wrong command message and more i suppose.
- tabs blinking like there was somethink important waiting for you (and its just  message which you have seen already in main)
- no way to chat with /say and /shout without seeing the system messages

Bereror, The All tab is good because you often want to know when and what has been said. I find it very annoying that i write somethink in the main tab and it causes some system message which to see i have to switch to system and back to main.
When i activate some operation (eg fixing weapon) i don't know if it even started, because the system tab was blinking for 5 minutes already as i had no patience to check all the time whats new in it. Still if it just started bliking, you ony know somethink happened, ut you don't know what.

Without the all tab i feel like my char was handicapped in some way. Because I don't know what is happening

Nice job Bereror!  :thumbup:

At least we have more flexibility talking to npcs - this works really well, I feel. Having filters on the Main tab would go a long way to improve this. I too like to filter everything out except Chat when I'm RP ing.

I think the system has improved, and if the chat window will become configurable and the over-blinking will disappear, it will be the greatest!  8)

Glad to hear it's still being worked on a bit then, Bereror. Thanks :) And I guess it is a good idea to have it how you planned. Main tab having everything you can see or hear.  I guess me (and possibly others) just got confused with all the guildchat and such still in there also.

Edit: possibly off topic, just wondering if the not seeing other PC's damage (in any tab) is a bug, or if it is supposed to be like that now.  I personally like it this way, even if it is a bug. :)

It is an intentional change that you see only the damage made by you, your opponent or your group.

It is hard to say which one is better.
it is very nice to have tab with all what your character would see or want to know. Will be even better if you will be able to choose what you want in it.

But we need the All tab besides this. I told about it in previous post. Simply you want to know when and what was said or happened. Having it in different tabs, without simple way to compare, causes confussion.

Why are you against all tab? what is so wrong in it?


Oh, and we will need simple keyboard shortcuts customizale in keys config for each tab to switch fast, coz using mouse for is cumbersome. I believe this will convince more people to stay in Main tab most of the time, even if they will have All tab. Even if, we still need All tab.

I LOVE the Npc tab...the 'Hello Levrus' (saying the name of the npc) thang just didnt work in practice. (sry Venge; although I can see the theory behind it)

NPC tab = Good  :thumbup: (thought you could use some encouragement)

Sugested multiple times, always answered with a "No." Interaction with NPCs is supposed to ultimately feel real and immersive. Treat NPCs like regular "people," not convenient machines.

But people who want to have both All and Main (will all your character hear/feel/may know - along with the orginal purpose) tab can't have it.
