all i know is dont download the first mirror it causes a huge viruss!!!!! DO NOT DOWN LOAD IT

im not totally sure but it had to had been big my old virus scanner piked it up

look i got reely mad at it cuz my dad dousnt let me down load stuff but he let me this time and it almost crashed my comp. why would i make this up??????i dont want anyone else to get it

simoply take screenshots of your virus scanner, the location it found the virus. and how often the virus scanner is updated.
most likely cause is an out of date virus scanner

i know somethin about computers and anyone could figure it out my comp. started to act slow and it was the first time it loked up (i have a g5 the top mac sooo its not supposed to lock up)

People have been using the mirrors for ages now. There is no virus :] Your system is either already infected, or your scanner is overly picky.

explain it loking up wene it was made not to and explain it popping up over and over

press the prnt scrn button when your virus scanner shows it and go to an image editor app, then press ctrl+v to paste (if it's how you do on mac too)

There is no virus, again :] People have used the official mirrors hundreds upon hundreds of times. Something is up with your system or your virus scanner. And please stop double-posting.

that dousent meen any thing a different type of virus could have been recently hacked in or it was a miss code my comp. read but i got a virus from it and i am warning you . i gtg bye :@#\

Bye! I'm downloading the file from the first mirror now and will post a screenshot of a virus check with Kaspersky :]

I have seen the Windows client be detected by Norton Antivirus as a virus, it was one of the character temporary files in the PS folder that it flagged. PS does not have a virus, the mirror does not have a virus. After more investigation of the system that this happened on, I discovered that this guy's brother had downloaded something that came with adware/spyware that attempted or succeeded infecting the PS files with something, or that it had just mis-flagged it to begin with. Do not trust antivirus software, do not trust any software that asks you to trust it, do not trust computers... that is all. Thank you.

Does that mean I don't have to download the entire mac client for proof now? Saves two hours :}

I will check the Mac torrent download and repost in a few minutes, Karyuu. [ten minutes later] ClamXav for OS X reports that no infected files were found in the PS Mac DMG I got from the torrent download. I did update the virus definitions before I did this, of course. I should qualify this as saying: I do not trust antivirus software, so this does not mean that there is not a virus. This only reduces the possibility of one being present to about less than 1%. [two minutes later] Okay, I did not get a new copy of the file. [two minutes later] Ummm... I actually do not know which mirror was being referred to, please post the link. I only checked the old torrent download...

Doh. Right on the main downloads. I haven't been over there in a while. No wonder we use the torrent, it does take a while. Sigh. I will do it anyway because dfryer should not be the only one sitting in front of his computer not playing. :) Is there some kind of a checksum done on the release to verify it has not been changed and replaced? I know the possibility is small, but I am really bored... oh, that was funny Keyaz...

There are 0 viruses on the Mac. If you mean a trojan... for some reason I doubt there is a trojan in Planeshift. There are very few of those for the Mac anyway... Your virus scanner screwed up. iLock.
