Title: Exiting game problem
Post by: Croconil on September 17, 2006, 01:51:49 pm
Everytime I load up the planeshift client, play for a while and quit, It comes up with an error message.

The icon in the taskbar is gone, but if I press ctrl, Alt, Delete and go into processes, It is still running in the background.

Is there any way to stop this?

Thanks

It would really help if you used the search (http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?action=search) button from time to time. It is a known problem on Windows, still no fix for it but it's more on an annoynace than a bug. And since that doesn't happen on other OS-ses, it's not PlaneShift's fault. Just make sure to check every time you exit the game that it doesn't stay loaded in your memory and end the process.

I did search, but I couldent find anything. Its not THAT much of a problem, but I just have to end the process everytime I exit the game.

I was just wondering If there was a fix coming up for it.

It's been happening for as long as I can remember.  Since it doesn't effect game play, it's more than likely going to be one of the last bugs to be fixed.  In the meantime, do what me and others do, when you want to end the game, kill the process.  Keeps the error box away and since you'll probably have to kill the process anyway, it saves you a step.
