Title: no attack sound or some special sounds

Hi,

I have got debain Etch Kernel 2.6.18.

In the Game i didnt hear attack sounds, is this corrct?

Or maybe a bug on my system?

Al least i hear ambient sound or maybe music, i am not sure.
But no attack or monster sounds

Is noise from the charakter(for example fighting, going, running, open door, knock on the door, laughing, ...) implemented in Planeshift 3.016 ?

The Game still works fine but without noise only background music.

I have no sounds either. I am not sure if its implemented at the moment though.. I really cant remember off the top of my head.

Right now I'm going with no sound at all, but with the previous version I do remember I had sound.  Music and everything.

Sorry :P anyway, I have sounds such as music and stuff, have you tried reinstall?

Since i can remember i installed my first Planeshift version,
i didnt have got sounds, only music.

The latest version includes an alsa driver, and it sometimes conflicts with ones already installed on your system.  Go into the Planeshift install folder, then libs, and get rid of the libasound.so file.  You may want to just cut and paste it somewhere in case this doesn't solve the issue, but I didn't have any sound at all, and doing this fixed it.

I moved libasound.so, but it doesnt help.  ???

I know this topic is old, but I had this problem too, and it was the first search that came up in the forums.

I found a solution:

cd <PS_install_dir>/libs/
ln -s /usr/lib/libasound.so.2 libasound.so.2
You man want to make a copy of the original libasound.so.2 just in case, but this solution worked for me where the above deletion did not.
