This is more of a question for admins and such, but anyway... What is the whole pourpose of this game? why did you create it? and also... what is your goal for planeshift? just to make a world to walk around in? or are you tring to actually get people to come and play? do you eventually want mobs of people like in WoW?

The only one that can really answer this is Talad, i was told it was his game and his idea, and everyone else is just a helper under his rule.
Maybe he's already answered this, but it's a good question, i'm guessing the answer might be something like, Just for fun. :woot:
Anyways, i'm curious as to what the answer is too.

The goal is basically to create a completely free MMORPG that is functional, enjoyable, beautiful, and addicting. We would love to have a ton of people frolicking in our virtual fields, but I'm not sure about mobs of people - those carry in a ton of problems. Either way, as the game progresses they will come. I'm sure we will be able to handle it in the end.
A lot of us work on the game because we like making something others can have fun with, continuously. Making something out of nothing :}

ok, so it started as a comarcial project... but why did luca decide to make it GPl? is it just to keep the game alive practicly forever? or was it just because he didnt want to rely on a company to decide the fate of the game? ::|

It was converted to be GPL in order to get volunteer programmers to work on it (like me, and many others). No one would help for free if it was commercial. See <any other game> for an example of this in action.
