Hey people! this is my first post here. I have been monitoring the forums for updates on planeshift. I had it downloaded last fall, but I got my hard drive wiped. Can anyone tell me about any maijor or minor improvements that have been made? I remember there was a glitch where everyone was walking sideways or something and I never got to know if they fixed it. I will be downloading it again next weekend, and as a former Guild Wars, T4c, WoW, and Runescape player, this looks like the best MMO yet! Any Ideas on how many years untill the final release is made? Thanks!

Greetings! Or welcome back rather :]
A first note I want to make: there is no "final release" planned for PlaneShift - the game will always continue to grow and evolve, and our children's children's children's [...] children will see version 4562.3.0.16 if this project lives long enough :P As for when the game will feel more "complete," well - the changes that have been made since last fall are significant, and we're getting large updates out every two months with interesting content. There's really no way to predict the speed of the project, since we all rely on our ever-flunctuating free time to work on it.
A lot more land has been added, minigames, armors for all races (with helmets available reaaaaaaaaally soon!), crafting, etc. Check it out for yourself, definitely! :]

Thanks man! I have to go on a family camping trip tomarrow... :( but I'll be sure to download on Sunday! *exited*
The only thing I remember having a problem with was this vertical pipe in the sewers... I would try to jump over it, but to no avail, then I would see like 10 other people do it with ease... any advice?

The jumping distance has been changed, so characters reach a greater height now. You might not have this problem anymore :]

The trick is to "jump and run" - means: Run (SHIFT+UP), and jump at a specific distance from the pipe (around where some board in the floor ends).

Running is important, but the more important trick is finding the sweet spot to jump from. You just have to keep experimenting until you get it.
