The Culmi Navarre

Culmi Navarre
Introduction
It was a dark night, silent, except for the far away cheers and music coming from the tavern. The world, it looked so peaceful, so tranquil and quiet. How I hated it. How I hated those caped wonders prancing around saving the day against nothing. Where were they when the cruelties of this pitiful world came upon me? Gloating to the women and collecting tria, no doubt. Some would call it a personal vendetta, I on the other hand, I consider it justice. Justice to those who think that slashing through invisible foes is going to make up for all the lives they ruin in the process. All those lives, those poor people. I will collect them, educate them, train them. Turn them into a fighting force against the self-made heroes of Yliakum. My, and everyone’s vengeance will be fulfilled. Soon, they will experience the pain they mercilessly hand out as they take us for trash. Soon, the Culmi Navarre will strike.
Goals
Our goal? Our goal is to lay waste to these egotistical self-centered trash that call themselves heroes. They act like they’ve created the world, when all they do is attempt to make gains in popularity and tria by protecting the “good and righteous.” To deplete them of their honor and tria, and give them to those more worthy (ideally us).
Ranks
Trainee – Your job is to get trained and educated by the Teachers and Trainers according to your aspiration to any one of the ranks. Once your done, and the trainers/teachers have confirmed it, you advance to your given rank.
Trainer – This rank teaches all new trainees in the ways of physical combat, and mental strength.
Warrior – Members of the warrior rank are those physically trained to defend the guild in times of war.
Mage – Those of the mage rank excel in skills of magic, and use them to help the guild in all ways, from profit, to war.
Scholar – Scholars record the history of the guild, and research/record everything from roads/caves/dungeons to other guilds ranks, and pasts. They research Yliakum, and broaden the knowledge of the guild, teachers, and trainees.
Merchant – These members sell/buy things within the guild, and outside the guild. Creating trade networks of food, weapons, and other supplies ensures prosperity for the guild.
Conductors – Each conductor is head of one branch of the guild, the High Scholar leads the scholar, arch mage leads the mages, etc.
Director – Director of the guild, this member makes all guild-wide decisions, with the appropriate conductor, if decisions are addressing a certain rank. Alliances, wars, new ranks, etc. etc.
Alignment
Selfish crazy people….Evil I guess.
Rules
1. Be respectful to all PS staff and stuff
2. Remember, you're only RPing a mad man.
3. RP to the max
4. Have fun

EDIT 1: Took out a prancing or two, just for phinehas.
-
Considering they will probably clash with the Dark Empire some what...I think it's a terrible idea !!!! :P
All prejudice aside, it seems like a very good idea. It seems like a guild that will actualy affect hydlaa as supposed to just living there.
Nice graphic by the way.
The Trainer and Teacher ranks seem quite similar though. Too many guilds (read: all guilds :P) feel that there is a need to use all nine ranks.
I'm only using 7 and I've no idea how many the DE will be using, but, I doubt it will be nine.
-
Well, I don't think that the hierarchy is terribly original. On the other hand, there are so few evil guilds out there that I'm willing to lower my standards. Oh, and if you use the word "prancing" too often, it sticks out.

I don't see how it would clash with the DE particularly... the DE can only benefit from other guilds being destabilized anyway.
-
Come to think of it. They will probably clash with everybody.
I think the DE will be included, I've just got a feeling
-
Well, I don't think that the hierarchy is terribly original. On the other hand, there are so few evil guilds out there that I'm willing to lower my standards. Oh, and if you use the word "prancing" too often, it sticks out.
But...prancing is such a good word!
Nurahk: Yes, just the way I likes it.
About the trainer and teacher, I'll probably rethink it, might get rid of teacher..or trainer ???
Phinny: At least I didn't have it as "warrior" "good warrior" "Great warrior" "incredible warrior" "Masta warrior" I'll give the ranks fancy names, just for you. Might even make em more original.
-
Well, I don't think that the hierarchy is terribly original. On the other hand, there are so few evil guilds out there that I'm willing to lower my standards. Oh, and if you use the word "prancing" too often, it sticks out.
I agree, the hierarchy isn't original...mainly because that is impossible.
But atleast 8 of them have use, that's more what I care about.
-
Okay...teacher did seem redundant to trainer, so I took it out. There...and I removed a few prancing stuffs. :'(
-
Nah, don't make them fancy, just... add a bit of spice. Also "conductor" doesn't sound like a guild position really. Should probably change that one, but whatever.
-
ring leader? warlord? Nah that one sucks....err..ideas? :innocent:
And spice like....the descriptions? Or...the whole ranks. Or just their jobs... ???
Yay smiley addicts. \\o//
-
I would say just the descriptions. There's plenty of room for a simple evil guild in PS right now, so no need to make up weird things for them to do, or weird positions in your guild just to be "unique".
-
Let me ask something. Are you promoted in these ranks? As in Trainee to teacher etc?
-
Only from trainee to one of the other ones. Each rank specifies a job and specialty. I don't beleive in just advancing from rank 1-8 for fancier names like "warlord" and "uber knight"
You could advance to "conductor", but that's because you excel in your rank and are ready to lead. Not many get there.
-
Ah ok. Thats good because I was going to say, You go from Trainee to teacher, teacher to warrior etc, keep leveling up until you get to be the esteemed merchant. Glamorous :P
But ok. I am glad you said that because this is a good idea in my opinion. Keep with it.
-
Ill be willing to help you out if you want. This Evil Empire thing really reminds me of DE thinking of that i think its time to annoy them.... Just kidding. Like i was saying ill help you jump start it if you want.
-
I'd love any help, since it's hard for me to jump start a guild alone, being behind and all. Haven't been up to date with people/places since....MB? :/ YAY! PM me. we can discuss it fully.
EDIT: I made a little freewebs thing to fill as a site for now. Here it is:
www.freewebs.com/culminavarre
There is a short history on the "About" page of the site.
Will be working on the forums now. Coming soon (tm)
-
What would you like help with? I am more than happy to help with things like hierarchy, organization, etc. etc.
-
Yeah. Ranks are really tough for me. You could check back and see the raven guard and Atrox Interficio. They sucked too. The descriptions and stuffs. Thanks alot Phinehas. Much appreciated.
btw. feel free to change the entire thing if you want. PM me with end results or questions and stuff.
-
Well ranks should have original names, even ones you make up if you want. Having "General" or "Trainee" is a little boring.
Maybe it would be like a tribe...you know how they have Shamans and things? You could maybe make up a word for leader rank, new member rank, and all those.
-
Actually, I got a wonderful idea from daehaz. He suggested that we have the main evil doers, let's say me, him, drahlian, ramlambmoo, zanzi, etc. be in the guild and have our own followers. Help eachother fight battles, etc. etc. No concrete ruler or anything. Here's what I'm thinking.
<Names are examples>
Rank 8 - Councilors - me, zanzi, ram, daehaz etc etc.
Rank 7 - Dark Whatevers <My followers> Then I can split them into sub-ranks however I want.
Rank 6 - Death Ninjas <Zanzis followers> He does the same with subranks.
etc.
What do you think? Phinehas? Should we try it now, or wait until we are more along the road.
Also, it seems five (six?) people have shown interests. Might be able to get this started soon.
EDIT: Forums up. Linked on our site www.freewebs.com/culminavarre
Discussion of building the guild can move there, but if that's too tough on ya, keep it here.
-
Those ranks are better, having the council with their own rank to control makes it a bit more organized.
-
I'm not so sure about this idea. It doesn't seem like it'll stand up very well in RP. Plus how does it fit the in-game guild system? That's not a huge deal to me, but it might be to you. I think it would be better for you to have a council and perhaps the leaders each be in charge of a certain section of the guild, rather than having some sort of evil conglomeration where each bad guy has his own slew of followers even though they're all somehow in the same guild. That just seems a bit random. Am I understanding this correctly, or am I missing something?
-
Didn't miss anything, and I guess I didn't take the in-game guild system into account :-[
Yeah, I suppose we'll stick to the council of conductor guys being in charge of certain areas.
-

Don't worry about it. We're pro.
-
I only trust you as far as I can throw you, and if you know anything about Phinehas, that's not very far. ;)
-
Yeah, crippled men don't throw far.
Anyway, daehaz, suno, zanzi, anyone else wanting to join, read "Creating a guild" on the guilds forums. We need to pick a date/time for creating the guild.
-
Well ranks should have original names, even ones you make up if you want. Having "General" or "Trainee" is a little boring.
Quiet, no one asked you to be a part of it. We'll call the ranks "General" or "Trainee" if thats exactly what they are.

Thanks for the suggestion, duly noted and discarded.

Pro we are.
Do I get an invite?
-
Do I get an invite?
Saved the golden invite for ya. look around the guild forums and stuffs.
-
Hehe, looks like a good idea. Crazy selfish people that don't have demons in their heads. I like it.
So you steal and kill those pesky heroes so full of themselves just for fun, or because you are revolted against their filthy hypocrisy?
Bael and Talamir joining forces again? That should be fun.
-

The bit about the filthy hypocrisy and stuffs :D
Bael and Talamir joining forces again? That should be fun.
It always is...

ram, you do realize that that's kenti right? You know, Kenti, kran, Atrox Interficio. He'll be part of this one as well. Play nice with the other children! :D
EDIT: *sigh* this is what I get for working with the evil ones. Bael, Zanzibar. Both of you to the guild forums. I need times. /me takes out the ruler, "Five wips for missbehaving, seven for talking back."
-
Funny, I thought Bael left. I'm really behind things...but I can tell he's pissed.
-
Funny, I thought Bael left. I'm really behind things...but I can tell he's pissed.
People leave, come back, go into alt mode... you can never really be certain who's around and who's watching.
-
Why do you look at his profile? ::|
Zanzibar, I need a convenient time for creating the guild.
-
I look at everyone's profile...well, their mini-profile.
-
Funny, I thought Bael left. I'm really behind things...but I can tell he's pissed.
I am as ever present as the setting sun. But, just like the sun, I feel the need to hide occasionally.
Back ON topic, obviously anything with myself and Talamir invovled is instantly assumed to be a cartload of fun, plus some. Hopefully our newest incarnation of havoc will be as and even more successful than the previous ones.
-
Hopefully more successful. After the wipe we just kinda went our separate ways and the guild died fast.
-
The guild has been created, and keeping with guild policy there are to be no further press releases at this time. If any members of the press or public have questions which they want answered about the guild, they may timely present them in this thread. We will do our best to answer any genuine questions, although we give no garuntees that they will be answered.
The guild structure is currently undecided, and once it is decided, will probably remain secret (to some extent). However, I can tell you, it is extremely unlikely that there will be one overall leader, as there simply is not a person who could rise so far above the level of everybody else we currently have at the top of the guild. We will most likely have a council of the chosen at the head [Number undecided currently- no more than 5 or 7 is likely] with a few ranks below that. There will not be a huge number of ranks, like "Noob; Less Nooby Person; Slightly Better Person; Ok Person; Decent Person; Good Person; Really Good Person; Really really good person;"etc. Acheiving a rank up will only be possible a very limited number of times, but will reflect a significant change in that person's importance in the guild. It could then go
Council - Respected Members - General Members - New Members.
Mayhap we'll even think up some more original names for those ranks. The point being, there are only a few categories you could be in, and each one is very different to the others.
Those are only general guildlines. The structure is one of the most important things in a guild, and we will not rush into an arbitary and pointless heirachy.
Additionally, these are only my personal views, and any actual decision made would be dependant on it being approved by the other members. Perhaps they will all come out and flame me for my silly ideas.
-
Well, that sounds like a fairly decent idea.
Perhaps they will all come out and flame me for my silly ideas.
We can only hope, eh?
Did one of my posts get deleted?
-
The guild was officially created ingame, and I think alot of posts went deleted. All I see is ram argueing with himself:P
If interested in joining, PM me, or contact Ansatsusha, ingame. If I'm not there, you're welcome to try Bael, though he'll probably go off on you :P
-

Thats not true, I'll only go off at you if you say something stupid. Anyone with a serious desire to join the guild will be listened to and given time to explain their viewpoint.
Might I say though, as a general guildline, you should have been playing planeshift for at least 2 week before you consider applying to join. Although, the chief factor in deciding whether you are suitable to join will be your character's personality, and not their physical strength or skills.
Also, a clarification, our Guild could be described as Chaotic Evil- your character should adhere closely to this. Although Im NOT going to get into an arguement about alignments, and since the distinction between lawful and chaotic evil is blurred at best, having a straight evil character is a good start.
-
So why don't you simply give out a small description of what you are looking in a character? I think that would be alot better than hoping two words can stand up for it. In most cases you'll end up with people knocking at your door laughing and playing pranks and claiming "Hi. I want to join, I am chaotic-evil. Look at me chaotic-evilling." Kill the alignments.
It's good to see Bael up again with such spirit. I still think that new guilds should attempt to look up and try to suit PS's guidelines more carefully, still, it might be fun to have you guys around causing trouble. It's not like the PS team itself cares, so why should we.

I was more just addressing the point of the alignment of the guild since it was left rather ambiguous in the first point. I think you make a fair point that alignments are generally pretty crap.
I still think that new guilds should attempt to look up and try to suit PS's guidelines more carefully, still, it might be fun to have you guys around causing trouble.
What is that meant to mean? We have every intention of fitting into PS's guidelines as always (If you could point out where we arent / could improve, that would be good) and (somewhat contrary to before) there will be a high(er) focus on roleplay this time. If thats what you were referring to. We've always had a slightly different way of operating in game as a guild, but I think the only guidlines we break are the unspoken assumptions about the game that a majority of the community have.
-
Oh wait. Maybe that was out of place?
Still, let me attempt to try further at it, for my sake.
PS's political system has great emphasis over the guilds. One would assume then that the guilds, able to have their members among the Vigesimi, should spend some part of their interests into having their guild leader represent the guild in the politics. Therefore, this should create a necessity for guilds to improve themselves in order to become important in the economy and mantainment of Yliakum's needs to consequently gain a political weight.
Guilds not fit to be represented would fall into two cathegories: those who try to be fit, and those who don't.
Your guild should be one of those who don't. Amongst those who don't are those who are a thorn in a Yliakum level's feet, and those who simply assume a neutral stance about it. Spoiling the life of those who attempt to grow and support Yliakum's levels should be a threat directly to the government, and therefore these characters should not be recognized, specially not marked, in front of a guard or of a Yliakum's conscient inhabittant, or face a fiery pursuit.
This means your guild (and other current guilds) would either need to be disguised within civilized areas, or live outside them and join the creeps in their attacks to the levels, to be fitfully inserted in PS's setting.
-
Very valid point Sangwa. I've already established my own character as an alley creeper. I spend most of my time in the depths of the sewers, biding my time until the time is right. (of course I do come out for guild stuffs). I also try to keep my name away from those not in the guild. So, I do agree with you, while we are new. After/if we reach a strong number of recruits, well. You'll see ;)
And in conclusion kids, Sangwa was yet again right(at least he probably was).

This is a valid long term point. However currently, the political process is not quite as you have described it (Mainly due to OOC: game mechanisms) currently, and so it will not have much impact on our current goals. Certaintly, we seek to undermine those who promote order and stability, and so it would be strange for us to participate in it expect with the explicit aim of destroying it.
The point about having to either disguise ourselves or move out is also valid, but not a current worry. Since there is little way to be attacked for appearing in town, there is little reason to run away- especially when there are benefits to making appearances in game. We have always had a policy of having Practical Enemies, rather than Ideogical ones- there is no point hating someone you have no way of attacking. In the same way, we will deal with an organised political system when it comes around, and not dictate too much dogma about how it is going to be destoryed before we have seen what it looks like.
I have observed how the current 'political' system works, and suffice to say we are looking at ways to attack it. That is our current aim.
-
That was why I was talking about PS's setting, not quite it's current state. It'd be fun to see people already worrying with guard pursuits and such, and take advantage of the alleys and sewers and slums as their working points.
Might make players impervious to the changes, as they are (very slowly, but firmly) operated and developed by the PS team.
-
So why don't you simply give out a small description of what you are looking in a character?
Hmm, how to respond?
-
Now that's clear.
-
Damn that's pure gold. Woooo shal. I may turn that into a site intro.
-
Damn that's pure gold. Woooo shal. I may turn that into a site intro.
Uh, that would be stealing. And stealing is wrong. :innocent:
-
No stealing off Zanzi!
You may want to ask him first. :woot:
-
I just mean that the picture in the picture is stolen goods.
-
Hehe point made. :P That is awesome!
-
All he did was find a picture off the internet and add words to it. =P
-
It just fits so well though. :P
-
Those things don't exist in PS though.
Cowman, Some Darth Vaderish looking guy, and a dragon-ish thing. All on the far right.
-
Alright... so I just like the pic because it’s funny. :D Although it is still a reply to what they are looking for in a character and not what they want them to look like. :P
-
All he did was find a picture off the internet and add words to it. =P
Something like that. :)
-
:offtopic: Can we please stop with the pointless spamming in this thread and keep any discussion on topic?
-
Boo. I've come back into IG activity, and that means that the guild efforts will now continue. We're recruiting. And as the great Zanzi said:

Stop lying, you're not active at all.
-
I've been online daily, exceeding 1 hour a day. I swear!! :(
No really, it's only been a few days, but I'm active...alot. Can't say the same for you, never in-game and on the forums once a month.

I monitor the situation and make appearances as I see fit. Just because you don't see me doesn't mean I'm not here.
