Hey Friends,
we made up a little trailer with cutscenes from Planeshift ingame scenes.
It's supposed to be used to show it to friends who have not downloaded the game yet, and who are interested in animated gamecontent.
Don't expect too much, it's our first video. If you like it, maybe some more (and better) stuff will follow in near future.
You can grab the Trailer here. (http://www.psde.de/files/trailer1.avi)
Have fun :D

Thanks that is very cool. Short and sweet. :offtopic: Does anyone know if there is a game recording software that ingnors the gui?
-
The one we used for the trailer ignores the mousecursor so far.
It is called taksi and it's oss. But only for Windows OS.

@fellon :woot: \\o// Cool ^^ I can imagian that is PS was commercial the commercial would like a lot like this, It give a pleasent and calm look upon Yliakum, like that ;)
@ Narure I think you just gotta click all the gui and the labels away... :sweatdrop: I don't think there is ever gonna be a sepated recorder who can distingguise Gui form no gui... except if it's part of the game itself ::)
Péace out!

Fellon did a great job here! The only thing that was disussed here was the music (he created it himself). I think its perfectly fine and the trailer is great!

Sweet trailer i enjoyed it, except… I did not see an Enki in there! ::| Me wants to see one!! Also a larger variety of places would be nice. Overall though it was fun to watch. \\o//

I enjoyed the trailer as well, but it bothered me too that there wasn't a single enki in it. Apart from that I have no complaints! :)

Duh...Forgot to post what I though :P
It was good, I enjoyed it, but you should have put all races in it.

Fellon, what codec do you use? I've been using Taksi for quite a while, yet I don't use a dual processor machine so it's kinda hard to.
-
I thought it was cool.
Some shots of Akkaio, the magic shop, and the cavern would have been nice, but it would be really hard to fit it all into a short clip like that. A clip of someone running away from an ulbernaught would have been funny.

Hey Tuxide,
i don't own a dual core pc by myself, but it it took me quite a long time to find out acceptable codec configuration.
I'm sorry i can't remember anymore which one it was exactly, but maybe this might help you:
- I put the resolution of the game to 800x600 (the video didn't had to be Hi-Def)
- I choose another harddrive to get the captured scenes to, not the drive PS was running from
- I used some mpeg4 codec (divx or xvid) with high compression an low filesize. CPU is faster then the hard drive may write...
my experiences so far, hope this helps

Thank you, I figured it was something like xvid anyways. I've tried xvid once and came up with some garbled videos, but that was with an older version of psclient (0.3.014 or 015 I think) when object loading would add the upside down text on screen causing frames to not be captured. I will try again, I am much interested in making a collaborative video.

Oooooh wow, this actually is pretty nice :) Will defintally end up in my top 10 of PS movies. Would you mind if I use it myself for " advertising" amongst friends?
