Well, as the subject says I think there should be certain weapons/items/magic that are illegal in certain cities or everywhere.
For magic, since some people don\'t trust it, it could be banned in some cities. Also certain spells such as invisibility could be banned. If they were caught using/casting the spell they would be fined/thrown in jail/killed depending on how strong hte spell is.
Some items should also be illegal such as a certain type of poison along with many other things that could only be bought through black market or trade.
EDIT: meh

it\'s a good idea, for exemple
the fire spell is forbidden in an iced town
very good kiern ;)
-
I like it :)
there could be magic unfriendly towns
or peace loving town where your couldn\'t carry weapons
-
Dark way spells could also get banned in certain towns (too \"evil\" or \"dangerous\")
-
Good point Kiern, variations in the legality of certain items/spells could offer good story points, RPing, etc. Perhaps the religous zealotry of one town prevents casting (an attackable offense) or certains plants/foods are taboo in certain regions.

Plants, eh?

For instance, a certain plant/root could be used as a staple food crop in one area. If this crop is processed, it can also be turned into a potent liquor. A more \"puritan\" community might find this offensive and outlaw the crop completely. If you try to sell a bulb/leaf/etc. there, you could get thrown out of town. Perhaps there is even a \"black market\" for it there.

Looks like we\'re talking about drugs again, so the idea cannot be that bad. I hope that the DEVs \"implant\" different types of drugs into the game.
Yes, and it would be cool if you could smuggle drugs into towns and then try to sell it without being detected :]
-
This would add new resons for thieves and other masters of stealth in eaither to make the transactions or, work for the town and bust the people selling
-
The problem is that for players it would only be role-playing to actually do the drug. Man, I wish I could smoke up just looking at my computer
