Game was running fine(albeit some performance issues) up until today, where I began to recieve this error upon loading into the region. At first, I was running on 256MB memory(mushkin) so I decided to add another 256 stick tonight from another system to see if this was the problem. I'm now running this:
Microsoft Windows XP Professional(5.1)
AMD Athlon XP 1800+ (1.5Ghz)
512MB RAM
ATI Radeon 9700
I am still receiving this error and can not figure it out.

Can you create another character and login, or is this preventing you from entering the game world no matter what?

Haven't tried that, I'll do it now.
By the way...something odd I'm noticing: right before the crash, the loading bar completely finishes then I see a label in the bottom left hand corner, different players every time and it looks like it's turned upside down and backwards.

hrrr, initiating the screen seems to crash you, I had something similar a while ago, tell me? are you running with 'load all maps' on? I was when it kept crashing, i flicked it off and laoded fine, quit then reloaded with it on again and havent had the problem since...
or maybe you just need a GM to move you a couple slides, used to be a bug where peopel would crash for no reason and couldnt log back in because of where they were.. that's where the '/teleport <name> restore' came into play ^_^

I tried making another character and it's still crashing on load, don't have load all maps on, I've messed with the settings a lot and reinstalled, as well as trying to run the updater. Hrmmmm
