Title: [GUILD] Velashs Legacy
Post by: Treinos Vanter on October 26, 2006, 01:11:55 am
You walk through the sewers as you notice an assembly of dark clothed persons, dressed entirely in a dark cloak, the only thing you can see is their mouth.

You wonder what they are doing as one person steps out to talk to you.

"Greetings, I am Treinos Vanter, Prophet to Velash, God of Darkness. We arrived in Hydlaa recently to spread his words. Are you interested in joining?"

[You are the one to continue this story ;)]

[We are an evil rp-guild, so if you are interested in joining, you need to be willing to rp or willing to learn it. Our god is no real one, we claim him to be one. But that doesn't diminish his power  ;D. Fanatics are still dangerous  ;D]

Should secret guilds be posted here? Or are you being sarcastic?

If it's secret, you should consider not flooding a meeting place with repetitive chat.
Good idea to make a thread here to advertise instead of : discouraging everyone to RP with you by ignoring them, and discrouraging everyone around RPing his own life by flooding to catch their attention.

Anyway, the little infos provided here don't make your guild much different of many others. The other ones are just already established, openly explaining their ways and goals.

And you made up a god. Not that that in itself is necessarily so horrible(although it can be), but no one's ever heard of him before, so... a little description might be in order.

Perhaps, or maybe they would rather you found out such things in character. :woot:

True, true, but from the first post here, and the posts of people who've seen them in action, I'm guessing it's more that they don't really have it all together yet.

Truly the only logical conclusion.

It's the one I would bet on, if we were betting. Although, technically we are betting. Betting reputations, if I turn out to be found out wrong, all three people who read this thread will think worse of me.

Ok, I'm going OT now. I'll stop.

Ah yes, the crazy man screaming at harnquist. I remember. I'd agree with the term flooding.

do us all a favor and read up on "evil rp"  ...constantly shouting at Harnquist's is not evil ...just annoying as heck

If you're going to be making a 'promotional' thread in this forum section, you need to give it a certain structure. A post with a couple of sentences is far from enough - and if you want the rest to be learnt in-game, you need to be recruiting in-game and ignore the forums altogether. Here people expect to see a certain kind of content, and compared to all the other (successful) guild threads, yours falls short. So I would strongly suggest that you put together more information about your guild that you can give out without "spoiling" anything, and organize your first post here.

Whatever you goal is, serve a god, be evil, steal, murder, and even hugging, keep in mind that you are not alone.
If people were unhappy about your proselytism, it is because it was not interactive.
Spamming for your guild is not the way to promote it. You will only earn a bad reputaion and fill the /ignore lists of people.

By chosing a meeting, trading and crafting place, you tried to impose your role without taking into consideration the reactions of others. There is no PvP unless you accept challenges. It does not mean that you are allowed to ignore people angry at you.
There is no RP, even if you are IC, if you refuse to interact with others. So, if you state here that you are an evil RP-guild, it could help to roleplay evil instead of simply being here to annoy the greatest number of people IC and OOC.

I did not ignore the Attempts to silence me. I agree, I declined the duels, because I don't like people going around and thretening everyone who is  abit weaker with duels. However, I did NOT ignore when Narure dragged me off into a back alley to silence me, that was rp, and I think that is how it is supposed to work. Besides, standing around in the middle of a crowded place is what preachers and fanatics are still doing.

Yeah, I think it adds a bit of colour. I mean do you really think fanatics are going to sit in the sewers and keep all of thier beliefs to themselves? No. They will try to get it through to everyone they can. What better place than one filled with people?

@Treinos
You did not this time. And everyone by Harnquist can be thankful for Narure (Gratz to him) for keeping you busy, preventing the scratched record to go on and on like it did the other times.

@parallo
Adding colors is fine, but directing the paint spray directly into peoples' eyes is not very civilised.

I suppose you have a good point, but what other way is there to do it? ???

hmm I agree With Karyuu. Just making it all secret is the easy way out and makes making a post pointless. There isn't even a link to a website or forums.

I imagine some stuff must be kept secret, but very few people will join your guild if you have a paragraph to explain it.

And as for your roleplaying.  Yeah, that's really annoying, but, I'm not sure if it is bad roleplaying per se.
