Title: Virtual Memory

What is Virtual Memory? My computer quits Planeshift saying it needs more Virtual Memory and i have no idea what that is nor how much the program needs. [This is on my laptop] >:(

Virtual memory is system memory that is simulated by the hard drive. When all the RAM is being used (for example if there are many programs open at the same time) the computer will swap data to the hard drive and back to give the impression that there is slightly more memory. How much RAM do you have? Close down as many applications as you can, run a scan for viruses/spyware, as well as try rebooting.

Ok..its only like 100 DDRRAM maybe less or a little more not for sure its a laptop...its the only program running...ill try getting more Ram installed! Thanx for help...again. At least im learning.

100MB? Probably 128 is what you mean. That's just barely enough for Windows, let alone PlaneShift.

Ya like I said its a laptop...hopefully soon ill get a new desktop to play with!

Its actually 100 MB more..its 228MB DDRAM! Not 128MB DDRAM.
