Hah! Brilliant! Cruel... But Brilliant! ;D

Pwned

haha, "valve staff would never ask for userinformation......" "what's your username and password?" greg "xxxxxx"
I guess how many he cheated with this... well... hope it will teach him not to do such a stupid thing in the future... that's what you get for paid games, planeshift<3

Hahahahahaha...ahaha-aaaah :'D
Funny :')

I think it is incredibly sad. Stupid little kid tries to fool other stupid little kids (who else would fall for that with all the spelling errors? ) into giving up their accounts gets taken in by criminal older person. While it may seem to be poetic justice, I do not think we should be glorifying net abuse on this forum. Perhaps though it was just someone's idea of funny and didn't really happen.
-
That was hilarious. He deserved it. Mow lawns, ahahahah.
-
Although I think it's funny, I also agree with Bilbous. I mean, wouldn't it have been better if perhaps the second person had messed with the firsts' account, freaked him out, and then given him back his account? That way he would have been taught a lesson without any actual damage. Right now I'd say the second person is as much a criminal as the first.

The second person just changed the password and account information. I think it would be more criminal if he did what you're proposing - to log in, then do something like give away all of the character's items.
-
Ah. No. I wasn't very explicit. I'm tired and having trouble peicing legible sentences together.
By "messed with the first person's account" I meant what you already said, changed his account info, not done something like giving his stuff away. I'm just saying he should have done what he did, but ended it up with something like, "Ok, I've changed your password back. Let this be a lesson to you." Or perhaps reported him to Valve. That makes sense, too.
-
Or perhaps reported him to Valve.
I think that would have been the appropriate action but I'm still not sure someone didn't just make the whole thing up to be funny.
If I was certain it was not real I would think it was kind of amusing in an ill-advised kind of way.

Later on the author says he gave the kid back his account the next day. Something to the effect of "His stupidity is his punishment." He is lauded left and right for doing so, and some people point out how he should go to Valve or whatever and report him. But as it is pointed out here, he phished just like the kid did, and is committing the same crime.

Never claimed that vigilante-ism (sp?) is the way to go, but I think this kid might not try that stunt again, thanks to rabbit. What can I say. I love alternative medicine too ;)

You've got to be kidding me. Sure, you might be right if were talking about maybe the guy trying to kill his dog or something so that other dude gets revenge by killing the other guy's dog. This is about A VIDEO GAME. And not only that, but the original scammer gave up his password on his own FREE WILL. He was not forced to do it. I'm not saying it's the right thing to do, because it's not. But you are taking it far, far to seriously. There's different degrees to everything.
-
Well "incredibly" was an exaggeration, for sure.
-
I don't really see the problem. Some prick got what he deserved. Isn't that a good thing?
-
;D <- and that's all I'll say
Ow.. and ;D
-
hehehehe i saw this earlier on the comic/blog i read at www.myextralife.com
still so funny.
its my kind of justice
-
That comic was kind of amusing, the characters were oddly shaped--particularly the nurse. The punch line seemed a little strained though. Has the Wii been released yet? I haven't seen any in the stores. I am looking forward to checking it out.
-
I feel for this kiddos clan :'(
-
Very nice, I laughed.. Nice to know that he gave it back the next day.
-
That is pretty damn funny, to give out your account details to someone who has just told you that they will never ask for it is stupidity in the extreme. Although I do believe that two wrongs dont make a right, glad he gave him the account back. Just cant help thinking that some poor (and incredibly stupid) 13 year old went to bed crying that night.

;D good one, really \\o//  someone GOT owned:D
