Not really sure... works fine for me in dapper and edgy.  What exactly happens when you try to play a non native resolution in full screen?

Looks like a bizzare driver issue.  What kind of video card is in your computer?

ok, do this in terminal

sudo nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf

and see if the resolution you are wanting to use for the game in fullscreen is in the area called 'Section "Screen" '... it is just a guess but if you don't see it and add the resolution to the 24 depth section you might have better luck

Hi.

driver: NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-1.0-8178-pkg2

1. Why do You use almost 1-year old driver ? Maybe it is time to update ?
2. Do You use TwinView ? If yes - try disabling it.
3. What is the output of command "xrandr -q" ? Does Your monitor handle refresh rates reported for all resolutions ?

i am now using the latest driver, does not work

i have a 1600x1200 resolution and the monitor makes it @80hertz - so i think lower resolutions are ok, too.

i can switch to lower modes without problems

Hmm... I've checked it on 32- and 64-bit systems, on 32-bit FC5 switching resolutions works fine, on 64-bit FC6 I get the same results as You do. I suppose it is a bug in Xorg or NVidia drivers. So - no solution for now.
