I've got lots of ideas. I'm going to post some ideas for more actual races later, unless you absolutely don't want to add any more to the game.
But for now here's an idea that I think could improve the game:
Race-specific life events etc.
When you are making your character, the choices you get for events that happened in your life, favorite childhood activity, and such, should change depending on your race. I can't think of any good examples right now, but I may post som later...
Oh. Got a decent one, anyway: Birthplace. Right now it says "Not being a (insert race), growing up was an interesting experience..." Even if you are the (insert race). I'm sure there are plans to fix this, but it would be neat if you went one step further and made it so that there are some places that can only be for specific races, like for the Enkidukai, a den in a small forest, or something, since they're very catlike. And different things would happen to people of different cultures; Again using the Enkidukai (I'm almost positive I'm spelling that wrong); they wouldn't be likely to have the "falling in love with a bard" thing, because the bard would probably be of the same race, and they just don't seem like they would make very good musicians. But maybe they could have something that would just apply to their race.
I know this might not make sense, but I'm pretty tired right now and can't come up with many good examples.
I really hope this hasn't been suggested before; I didn't see anything on it...

They (people in charge of that decision) don't.

I'm pretty sure that our character creation process will be remade in the future (perhaps to something entirely different) :} I rather like the idea of being presented with choices that depend on some of your previous choices however, as that gives the most variety.
You've spelled Enkidukai precisely as you're meant to :D But I wouldn't be too quick to think that they don't make good musicians. Tribal drums come to mind with Enkidukai packs, for one.

/me can't wait for musical instruments to be implemented!
My life would be complete! :D

There's already the pan flute in game. But only very, very special people have those, the most recent person getting one as his marriage gift. I was told ther are only 3 in existance (to the general player base that is).
so soon. (tm)

Can you acually play with them? Gyerfry needs a guitar and panpipes xD

I have also a bad feeling, that the game makers were thinking about only one character (Ylian, good and right) making the characters maker. And imo the stupid thing is to stats and skills depend of the events in life. And it isn't bright for newbies how to make the character that they REALLY want...
IMHO there should be clear fields where you can write anything you want, and few random ideas if you have less brain than the mouse that you use to scroll the forum ^^. It's bright, that if the GMs will see anything wrong in your char's making fields, they will change it. But give the players more freedom and more fun!

You should think about your char background, then start creating your character in game by takig the options which are the closest to your character background. After that your char start his adventure with skills and stats based on your background. At least approximately. Just try to be honest, as your character isnt someone special, its just another grey posture among many others. What you do, after you create your character in game, make him special and known of it.

How could the one character both fail and succeed in a political carreer?
And what does Yilian have to do with it?
-
he could run unsuccessfully 5 times and then start winning.

But even if I change the closest options, they are still far from the concept! It would be nice to make your story, happenings from life and other things like that by yourself! And if somebody had few ravens on his house when borned, it doesn't mean he's better in the Dark Magic! These options are stupid like (...).
-
This is just a way to decide on your stats. It's not a guideline to the actual story of your character, nor is it the way you must roleplay. The game needed some interesting creation process, and instead of the usual we've used something a little more roleplay-inspired. Like I said, this may very well all change to something entirely different in the future.
-
If it can be changed in the future, I will be happy then. Let the players write their storylines! And I feel sick, when I see the ideas that are for "make the game more oryginal", but practically make the game unbright.
Normal stats and skills points is used to be used in most RPG games. Why? It is just the best way to create your character. Let the storylines and character statistics go the different ways, please. It will make the game more... authentic.
-
"Authentic" and "unbright"? I'm not sure what you mean by that. I certainly wouldn't want to feel sick over a game, either ;)
Players can write their storylines. As stated several times, the character creation process is just to determine your stats. One of the reasons it doesn't work too well is that it's too removed from your character once you are in-game, but this isn't exactly a revelation. Very little that exists right now will exist in the same state in the future.
-
Would it not terribly narrow our choices as well. "What you do in life is defined by your race." I understand what you are saying about the current system(Not that I agree :P) but what you proposed makes it worse. Why would you put things into empty fields if you were chosing the stats anyway?
-
Yeah, I kinda had my fingers crossed about that whole suggesting-new-races thing anyway...
But on the musical instruments, that probably has something to do with the fact that I play wind instruments, and have siblings that play strings... I wasn't really thinking about precussion.
See, I just was having trouble figuring out how the Enkidukai would fit any wind instrument in their mouth... Realisticly speaking, it would be nearly impossible for them to play anything too, because they don't have conventional lips.
Then I started thinking about what would happen if they tried playing say, the lyre. It would be interesting to watch them get their claws all tangled up and snap the strings... Heeheehee. But it's not entirely impossible; like I said those were really bad examples.
