BTW there isn't anything wrong with goodbye thread in my opinion and I think it is retarded for someone to have an issue with them. Also a waste of thinking and words to try and debate way goodbye threads aren't "cool". Fact of the matter is when someone wants to leave planeshift, they want to say goodbye. It's called manners and paying your respects to those who were your friends in this community.

I think the concept of leaving a forum is retarded.
what does it take to leave a post every few weeks, or even months.
you never have to 'leave'. unless of course your going somewhere where the internet is scarce.
heck, even Im absent for periods of time, but I always know that someday Ill stumble back onto this forum and post.
Anyways, I guess Ill have to add you to my sig. All the great PSforum'ers earn a place in my sig after they leave.

My point wasn't so much that having your opinion that goodbye threads are bad or silly, my point was people making issues out of it is retarded. It is such a minor issue, and those who put to much thought into it and make others feel silly because they make these posts are not being fair. People who have been here awhile seem to feel the need to let others know they are not going to be around. There really is nothing wrong with it as some like to make it out to be.
WiseKran, your outlook on this issue is pretty interesting and I never really looked at it that way. The concept of leaving a forum is kind of retarded, especially if you are still going to post every couple of weeks or months. People can however leave the forums for good though and maybe that is what drey is saying? Who knows but that is the impression I got..

Exactly (though I'd word it a little differently...). There's no reason to "leave" here. Hell, the only reason I come here is this board is one of my bookmarks and I just scroll through them all once a day or so.
That said, it's not really a big deal...

Hi, me again just to clear a few things up (and how could i resist checking on my own leaving post :p)
alot of you make some true points, it is pretty true you can't really leave a forum, i know some people go to the extremes of deleting an account but that pure silly. But, a few people may have noticed, for almost a year now i've hardly been ingame, and for a fewish months now, my name hasnt been sitting at the top of that irc list. like sep posted i simply dont have time anymore (also, the uni network which i have to use atm blocks everything even WoW :OO), but sure you'll see me posting here from time to time, just i suppose ill have a less spamish nature to it. and ofc ill still stumble into irc when im bored :p basically, i just wanted a leaving post...
other than that, ive stepped down from the GM team, i doubt ill be seen ingame again :p
